Metalhead Podcast, Metalhead Podcast, Go!

00:00:26.280 --> 00:00:28.020
You must listen.

00:00:29.020 --> 00:00:30.200
You must listen.

00:00:31.700 --> 00:00:32.599
You must listen.

00:00:36.440 --> 00:00:40.560
Now, here is the podcast, Metal Heads Podcast Go.

00:00:41.060 --> 00:00:43.460
Hello and welcome to the Metal Heads Podcast. My name is George.

00:00:43.900 --> 00:00:44.620
This is Jay.

00:00:45.170 --> 00:00:45.640
This is Will.

00:00:46.320 --> 00:00:46.860
This is John.

00:00:47.510 --> 00:00:48.080
This is Matt.

00:00:48.620 --> 00:00:53.280
And we are joined today by Chris from Infero Brew. How you doing, Chris?

00:00:53.880 --> 00:00:54.440
What's up, bros?

00:00:56.019 --> 00:01:24.440
So back in December, we did an interview. Wait, hold on, hold on. Are you okay, man? That was so low-key. I'll wake up a little. I was just napping. We're glad to have you under any circumstance. So back in December, we recorded an interview with Chris and Galen from Invera Bureau because Galen was out of town from like, what, September through November? And then now he is again,

00:01:24.500 --> 00:01:49.000
out on the road in Europe doing roadie stuff with Wolves in the Throne Room. So we took the time that we could to meet with Galen and Chris at the same time. And we did an interview. And then we're like, we're going to do an episode to attach that to. And we're just now finally getting around to doing that. So before we talk about anything else, let's do that interview.

00:01:50.120 --> 00:02:19.200
We are joined today by Galen and Chris from Inferra Bro. Welcome back, guys. Thank you very much. Good to be back. Thank you. How have you guys been? I saw Galen back in May at MDF, and Chris, I think it's been since Shadowoods. Yeah, it's been a bit. We're doing good. We're playing music and getting ready to play some shows. Had a new album, so. Yeah, it sounds like you guys have been busy.

00:02:19.800 --> 00:02:49.780
Yeah. You released your third album, Saramit, back in September. We've been trying to get you on, but Galen, you've been out on the road with Wolves in the Throne Room on the Behemoth tour. I want to talk about that later, but for now, I still want to talk about the album. Now, if I recall correctly, Saramit was originally going to be released on Bind Rune, but then that didn't work out and you upgraded to Prestheta.

00:02:50.719 --> 00:03:19.500
So can you tell us about what all happened there? Yeah. The album was done, I can't remember exactly when, but kind of a while ago now. And it was initially going to come out on Bind Rune. And unfortunately, Marty, the owner, ran into some personal things and had a bunch of stuff happen that basically he wasn't able to,

00:03:19.800 --> 00:03:23.320
to do a bunch of different stuff. And ultimately

00:03:24.620 --> 00:03:27.260
kind of said, you know, I'm not able to put this thing out.

00:03:29.620 --> 00:03:31.500
So, yeah, there you go.

00:03:32.120 --> 00:03:34.860
I remember hearing that the record was done and then

00:03:35.700 --> 00:03:39.620
it was like, yeah, I think maybe Chris said something like, yeah, the label's not

00:03:39.630 --> 00:03:41.420
going to be able to do it. And it's like, what?

00:03:41.680 --> 00:03:45.260
Yeah, it was, you know, unfortunate timing, but

00:03:45.740 --> 00:03:48.919
ultimately, you know, he had more important things going on than

00:03:48.920 --> 00:04:18.900
than label. He had family stuff going on, which is always more important. I understand. We're on good terms. He's a good guy. He's a big supporter. Bindroon does some good shit. Yeah, absolutely. They're a good label. We had to start from scratch and send a bunch of stuff out to labels, do that whole thing, which is always a pain, but ultimately paid off because prosthetic

00:04:18.940 --> 00:04:19.519
to put it out.

00:04:20.680 --> 00:04:23.700
I can't imagine it took you very long to get a label interested.

00:04:23.830 --> 00:04:24.720
How long did it take?

00:04:25.280 --> 00:04:26.840
Ooh, that's a good question.

00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:28.740
Like five seconds?

00:04:29.980 --> 00:04:32.620
No, it's a lot longer than that.

00:04:33.160 --> 00:04:33.900
You'd be surprised.

00:04:34.060 --> 00:04:35.800
I mean, we sent it to a lot of people.

00:04:37.900 --> 00:04:44.080
Had some interested parties, but sometimes those kind of things don't pan out.

00:04:44.180 --> 00:05:14.120
So some of these interested labels just kind of like either couldn't do it in a timely manner or like, you know, change their minds or, you know, this kind of stuff has happened to us a lot, actually. And I'm sure it happens to plenty of other bands as well. So. Yeah, I remember Chris saying, we think we've got something, but I can't tell you about it yet. Yeah. And so I was like, oh, that's cool. That's cool. And then I saw you at MDF and you were like, yeah, prosthetic. That just like blew my mind. I was like, that's awesome. So congrats.

00:05:14.180 --> 00:05:43.520
on that. How have they been treating you? Thank you. They've been really awesome. We're working with Steve and he's been really awesome. They help us any way they can and put a lot of work into the promotion and stuff. So, so far, so good. Excellent. So, tell us about how the album came together. And I don't mean like, you know, obviously we talked about the label issues, but like, you know, how long did it take to write and record?

00:05:44.639 --> 00:06:11.760
How long were you sitting on it before it came out? Well, that's an easy answer because it was really frustrating hanging out with this finished album for as long as we had to sit on it. It was probably close to a year of the thing being done. So it's kind of hard to actually think back about the process of making it at this point because it was kind of a while ago.

00:06:14.880 --> 00:06:43.260
I think it was a little different than the record before it in the sense that I ended up doing almost everything on this one. At least musically, I ended up doing pretty much everything. Petrino contributed lyrically to some songs, but musically it was kind of my thing. So it was a little different. Cool. Yeah.

00:06:45.500 --> 00:07:13.020
And I noticed that you guys not only, well, you obviously wrote everything, but that you also recorded and produced it yourselves. Yes, that part wasn't new. We always do that. And I think we got, I think we really made some headway on this, this, this new one. I think, I think we were all pretty proud of how it turned out as far as like the production and the, you know, getting across the,

00:07:13.600 --> 00:07:14.680
The Vision.

00:07:16.280 --> 00:07:18.460
And you did the engineering part?

00:07:20.720 --> 00:07:21.760
Yeah, some of it.

00:07:22.850 --> 00:07:30.320
Our friend Dave Kaminsky recorded the drums and bass at his studio in Connecticut,

00:07:31.030 --> 00:07:35.220
which is where we did the rhythm tracks for In Conjuration as well.

00:07:37.200 --> 00:08:05.160
And I did all the I recorded the guitar synth vocals at my studio in quotations. And yeah, I mixed it and Brad Boatwright mastered it, who's mastered the last. Well, that was the second album that he mastered for us. So what what software do you use to record and mix? Pro Tools. Pro Tools.

00:08:07.220 --> 00:08:37.180
in the box. But the recording of the drums was done on an analog board, which was really nice. And also this, the one thing I think was really cool about this album, as far as the recording went, was we actually managed to do the bass and the drums at the same time. So we got a nice kind of live, live-ish feel on the rhythm tracks. So yeah. Does that mean Chris went down to Connecticut? Chris went down to Connecticut, plugged his

00:08:38.520 --> 00:09:07.020
Let It Rip. Nice. Yeah. Oh, one takes. Yeah. Yeah. If you listen real close, you'll hear a lot of fuck-ups. That's flavor. I'd like to do an album like that, but this is not that album. So, Chris, you were in the room with the drummer and you guys tracked at the exact same time? Yeah. Nice. I think that was the first time we did that. Yeah, it was really nice.

00:09:07.220 --> 00:09:34.160
I'd like to push that even further in the next one. It's just, it just makes such a difference to have everybody kind of in the song at the same time. You get this band vibe that it's kind of hard to get when everyone's doing their stuff separately. Yeah, I remember when I was a kid and I first learned about multi-tracking and overdubbing, it blew my mind. I was like, they don't all just play in the same room? I was like, that's just, why?

00:09:37.220 --> 00:10:06.660
It makes sense. So, uh, not only did you do everything else, but apparently you also did the artwork. Is that what, uh, that's what Bandcamp says? That is what, that is correct. Yeah. You're a Renaissance man. Well, I, I usually kind of audition some art every album. And, uh, I guess was the first, first, most of the gets shot down. Yeah. This is the first release that the band voted yes on my art.

00:10:07.220 --> 00:10:10.960
So it's pretty cool. I'm happy that it happens.

00:10:12.660 --> 00:10:17.600
Is that something you normally do or did you just say, hey, let me try my hand at this?

00:10:17.600 --> 00:10:19.820
I mean, do you regularly do art?

00:10:20.480 --> 00:10:23.960
Yeah, I do. Not as much as I would like to.

00:10:24.140 --> 00:10:29.100
It's one of those things where music has kind of overtaken art.

00:10:29.290 --> 00:10:34.760
You know, like one hobby will kind of overtake another hobby and then that will kind of fall by the wayside.

00:10:36.100 --> 00:11:05.280
I still do art. I do paintings and stuff, but it's pretty minimal. It's not like I'm using them for anything. That's the difference. Unless I was selling them or using them or giving them away or something, I don't do it as often as I'd like to. Since this is a podcast, do you want to explain? I'm looking at the album art cover right now. If you want to get into it a little bit. If I had to interpret it, it looks like a cosmic cloud with teeth.

00:11:06.100 --> 00:11:34.440
I'd say that is a very accurate description. Right on. I think the way you said that brings up the right image of people's minds. Cosmic cloud of death. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's definitely cosmic. It's pretty abstract. I had some other ideas that were a little more, I don't know what they were.

00:11:37.220 --> 00:12:05.300
They had figures in them. They weren't abstract enough. We ended up using that one because it was ominous. We've done figures. We're over figures now. Action figures? What kind of figures? Yeah. I did a painting. You thought it was a wizard. We didn't use the wizard one. We'll do that on another album. That's too chemist.

00:12:06.560 --> 00:12:35.200
That's true, yeah. It would be a direct competition with those guys. The Wizard Wars. To a split. Your wizard could have a different color, you know, robe or something, or staff, you know. I mean, that worked in Lord of the Rings, right? Gandalf or Saruman the White. You guys are speaking my language now. Was he the White? Or was it Gandalf the White? I freaking don't remember him. Was he the White? Was he the White at first? Gandalf? Third alert. Before he fell.

00:12:36.120 --> 00:13:05.260
Yes, exactly. He had the dirty robe that he wore for, I don't know, a couple hundred years. He put it in the car wash. He went to the dark side to mix my nerd genres. He didn't wash it with cold water. If you guys want to talk about Lord of the Rings, we can get a Fauxhammer on, which is a local DC band who's in, like, Fauxhammer, I think, is, like, someone's sword or hammer in the Lord of the Rings, so we can get those guys on. We'll talk about it all day long. Let's talk about it. Nerd out.

00:13:06.100 --> 00:13:35.880
Yeah. So, uh, was there anything you were trying, I have swear. I've not had anything to drink. Was there anything you were trying to achieve with this album? Um, like, did you have a goal in mind, obviously beyond writing music and making an album? Was there a, you know, I don't know, a theme or just, uh, you know, some, something that you were trying to achieve,

00:13:36.100 --> 00:13:38.420
that maybe you hadn't managed to do in the past.

00:13:40.560 --> 00:14:05.479
Yeah, yeah, kind of. There was kind of a plan to sort of, what's the term here, kind of like start over in a way, like simplify what we were doing down to like a more, I don't know, take the elements that we liked, that we thought worked from the last records and kind of like distill it down to something.

00:14:05.500 --> 00:14:07.480
to something simpler.

00:14:07.860 --> 00:14:10.260
That sounds like when Metallica made the Black album.

00:14:13.459 --> 00:14:14.060
Sure, yeah.

00:14:14.840 --> 00:14:17.040
They were like, yeah, we're going to make this a little simpler.

00:14:18.280 --> 00:14:21.120
Yeah, now that you say that, it's not, yeah, I don't like that.

00:14:22.700 --> 00:14:23.440
I take it back.

00:14:25.040 --> 00:14:25.640
I think you're good.

00:14:26.140 --> 00:14:27.380
We'll cast a wider net.

00:14:28.960 --> 00:14:32.760
Yeah, but you didn't have Bob Rock in the studio with you guys, so I think you did it right.

00:14:33.080 --> 00:14:33.360
Thankfully.

00:14:38.059 --> 00:15:04.640
I was going to say, there's clean vocals have returned and the production's even better than last time. Chris, you must be horrified by it all. Yeah. It's pretty disgusting. Chris really only listens to stuff that sounds like it was recorded in a tin can stuffed up Satan's anus. Yes. That's so not true, though. It is, man. Everything you send me is like...

00:15:05.860 --> 00:15:08.860
Not that I don't like some of it, but

00:15:09.820 --> 00:15:12.000
anything I send you, you're like, that's too produced.

00:15:14.720 --> 00:15:16.820
I don't know. I can be a big poser too. Don't worry.

00:15:17.380 --> 00:15:19.040
Just wait till we get to our top ten lists.

00:15:20.179 --> 00:15:22.880
And don't, God forbid somebody starts playing Europe.

00:15:24.360 --> 00:15:25.040
Oh yeah.

00:15:28.839 --> 00:15:30.260
I will say this.

00:15:30.700 --> 00:15:32.620
It's probably been, what has it been, a year and a half

00:15:32.760 --> 00:15:33.940
since all of us have hung out.

00:15:34.000 --> 00:16:03.580
And that description of liking something that sounded like it was recorded in a tin can has stuck with me that whole time. It's a special place in my heart. He's just true cult, man. He's way true cult, way more cult than the rest of us. Actually, I think George said it to describe what you like. And you did not deny it. I think you agreed to it at the time. Man, to each as well. Yeah, I'm not knocking it. I'm just knocking it.

00:16:04.519 --> 00:16:05.040
Yeah.

00:16:06.060 --> 00:16:08.020
Galen recorded this new one.

00:16:08.100 --> 00:16:09.040
It's not my fault.

00:16:09.420 --> 00:16:10.280
That sounds wonderful.

00:16:10.810 --> 00:16:11.240
I love it.

00:16:11.240 --> 00:16:12.400
It's not my fault it's too produced.

00:16:12.560 --> 00:16:12.780
Kudos.

00:16:12.910 --> 00:16:13.040
Kudos.

00:16:13.040 --> 00:16:13.940
It's not my fault.

00:16:14.380 --> 00:16:15.240
It sounds too wonderful.

00:16:16.619 --> 00:16:19.500
No, the thing with Chris is that he's a...

00:16:20.220 --> 00:16:20.620
Poser.

00:16:21.200 --> 00:16:22.040
Yeah, totally.

00:16:22.960 --> 00:16:30.220
No, when we mix the albums, Chris's very specific sonic things that he suggests.

00:16:30.280 --> 00:17:00.100
So he's actually very involved in that, in the overproducing of our albums. He's like, produce it more, produce it more. Sort of, yeah. But then he's like, so, but then you turn around and deny it. So, yeah. Trying to hold on to the street cred. Sort of, yeah. And then we take it too far and I'm like, holy shit, this sounds like behemoth. This is unacceptable. We work backwards. To be perfectly honest, I think the production,

00:17:00.180 --> 00:17:01.480
sounds better than the behemoth album.

00:17:02.560 --> 00:17:03.000
Thank you.

00:17:03.899 --> 00:17:05.380
Or the previous one.

00:17:05.900 --> 00:17:07.720
I like the music on them.

00:17:08.679 --> 00:17:09.800
Different style.

00:17:10.060 --> 00:17:11.680
But the production is a little more

00:17:12.140 --> 00:17:13.760
maybe atmospheric than

00:17:14.560 --> 00:17:15.400
I'm a fan of.

00:17:16.459 --> 00:17:16.579
Yeah.

00:17:19.600 --> 00:17:21.900
I got to jump in here because we completely

00:17:22.180 --> 00:17:23.520
didn't even mention this.

00:17:24.360 --> 00:17:25.579
But in the beginning

00:17:25.860 --> 00:17:27.839
where are you guys from?

00:17:27.980 --> 00:17:29.160
Where are you based out of?

00:17:29.340 --> 00:17:58.660
What actually type of music do you is in Farrah Virgo? These are great questions. I know we all know this, but for the listeners who do not. Good point. Yes, yes. We are a pop punk band from the UK. We have a great English accent. We're a black metal band. We're in Massachusetts mostly. We're in New England, I'd say.

00:17:59.320 --> 00:18:28.460
One of us is in New Hampshire now. So, yeah, we're a New England black metal band. I don't know if some people say some weird things like progressive black metal or ambient black metal and stuff like that. And that's fine. So some people think we sound like that. Is that good? Yeah. So, Decibel gave you guys... Details are important.

00:18:29.340 --> 00:18:52.880
What's that? These details are important. So, Decibel gave you guys an 8 out of 10. That's pretty cool. And Angry Metal Guy gave you a 3.5 out of 5, which for them and for things that I like that they review, that's a pretty good score. What the hell was that? If I had to guess, that's Chris.

00:18:59.320 --> 00:19:28.600
The Angry Metal Guy Review. I don't remember which one that was. It was the one that went like this. Sorry, go ahead. Fart jokes. Reviews are kind of a weird thing. It's nice to be acknowledged, but you don't want to put too much stock in those things. Especially when they're bad.

00:19:29.340 --> 00:19:59.280
Well, yeah, especially when they're bad. Yeah, wasn't there somebody, not to insinuate that you would ever get a bad review, but wasn't there somebody that gave it a five or something? Was that like Metal Hammer? Yeah. Is that Metal Hammer? Yeah, I don't know. Five out of five or a five out of ten? Five out of ten. I'm using that as a segue to my rant from last night about Metal Hammer because I just last night canceled my Metal Hammer subscription after reading their latest episode.

00:19:59.340 --> 00:20:29.300
This episode issue. Really? Yeah, they've completely shit the bed. They're subscribing to Revolver or something because their year-end list, their number one was Ghost, first of all. Yeah, that says everything you used to know, yeah. And then they had things on their list like Parkway Drive and all this other bullshit. I mean, there was some okay stuff on there, but not... This I could have lived with because I've been

00:20:29.320 --> 00:20:31.980
I've seen the writing on the wall for these guys for the last year.

00:20:32.860 --> 00:20:34.180
Or whatever it was they rebooted.

00:20:36.160 --> 00:20:38.020
They just started a new format.

00:20:38.940 --> 00:20:39.580
A new layout.

00:20:40.240 --> 00:20:40.860
In the magazine.

00:20:41.760 --> 00:20:43.400
And they dropped Subterranea.

00:20:44.500 --> 00:20:46.420
Which is the only thing that I read the magazine for.

00:20:46.540 --> 00:20:47.960
Because that's where the real metal lives.

00:20:48.760 --> 00:20:51.600
That's where they review all the black metal and stuff like that.

00:20:52.340 --> 00:20:53.940
They completely did away with it.

00:20:54.000 --> 00:20:56.320
So I'm like, there's nothing here for me now.

00:20:56.880 --> 00:20:58.240
So fuck Metal Hammer.

00:20:58.460 --> 00:21:00.580
and their fives and everything else.

00:21:00.820 --> 00:21:00.980
Yeah.

00:21:01.720 --> 00:21:02.860
I give Metal Hammer a three.

00:21:05.520 --> 00:21:06.780
Really, now there's just decibels.

00:21:06.940 --> 00:21:09.380
As far as print magazines, as far as I'm concerned, decibels is it.

00:21:10.060 --> 00:21:10.820
Yeah, that's good.

00:21:10.820 --> 00:21:11.200
Is Terrorizer gone?

00:21:11.940 --> 00:21:12.340
Terrorizer.

00:21:12.480 --> 00:21:13.060
Terrorizer's good.

00:21:13.500 --> 00:21:14.400
Nah, I haven't seen them.

00:21:15.080 --> 00:21:18.260
That used to be my magazine of choice, and I never see it anymore.

00:21:18.560 --> 00:21:19.560
So I haven't seen one for six months.

00:21:19.560 --> 00:21:20.980
They stopped putting it out.

00:21:21.400 --> 00:21:22.740
They fucked me.

00:21:23.600 --> 00:21:25.420
Well, yeah, they took all our money.

00:21:25.720 --> 00:21:27.740
Yeah, I paid for a full year subscription.

00:21:27.960 --> 00:21:56.140
They put out like five issues and then disappeared for half a year. Interesting. And then when they came back, they didn't honor all the episodes, all the episodes, all the issues they missed. And I complained and they were like, here, here's a free issue. I'm like, you owe me like five or six more. I'm not paying. I'm not re-upping my subscription when I don't know if I'm going to get my shit. So fuck them too. They came back and gave like two issues and they disappeared for another six months.

00:21:59.940 --> 00:22:27.600
So just to touch on our conversation last night again, George, am I crazy and thinking that Metal Maniacs was like about thrash and death metal? Or was that like another circus? I have not read that since high school, which would be a long, long time ago. Metal Maniacs? Metal Maniacs was definitely thrash. It touched on a lot of that stuff. It had like a lot of mainstream-y stuff, but it also had death metal, something like that. And significantly... I'm sorry, go ahead. It wasn't like pit,

00:22:28.000 --> 00:22:57.800
I remember Hit Magazine being like the death metal one. But yeah, it had a bunch of stuff. It was a step up from that circus and Hip Rader. Yeah, it was a step up from that. Not that I don't read those today still. They don't make it anymore. I don't think. I used to have a subscription to Hip Rader long. I mean, I was like 10. That was my very first music magazine in way, way too long ago. It was an issue.

00:22:57.960 --> 00:23:27.300
with David Lee Roth on the cover, sans shirt, thumbs in his pants, pulling it down just enough to give you a little pubage. And give George a little bonage. I was like, uh, my mom was like, uh, I'm like, that's not what it looks like, mom. Jeez, that's, that's a far cry from my first magazine. Mine was cream. Cream. Yeah. We don't want to know what you did with the magazine. We just want to know what it was.

00:23:28.140 --> 00:23:35.560
I swear I not to go off and do much of a tangent but I was literally reading a story today

00:23:37.000 --> 00:23:49.220
David Lee Roth has short hair almost no hair he's kind of like bald and like he has this like skincare line of taking care of tattoos and outdoor wear and he looks nothing like he used to

00:23:50.540 --> 00:23:54.100
It was like a Vogue

00:23:55.020 --> 00:23:58.220
It was like an article on Yahoo News feed

00:23:58.680 --> 00:24:00.260
that was from Vogue or something

00:24:00.400 --> 00:24:01.180
I don't know, it was fucking bizarre

00:24:01.270 --> 00:24:03.480
I was like, holy shit, that kind of looks like him

00:24:03.480 --> 00:24:05.040
but it kind of looks like his grandfather

00:24:05.740 --> 00:24:08.820
He should probably team up with KK Downing

00:24:08.820 --> 00:24:09.880
and they could have like a product

00:24:10.670 --> 00:24:12.220
you know, thing going on with

00:24:12.800 --> 00:24:14.460
cologne and everything

00:24:15.160 --> 00:24:16.979
KK Roth Musk for men

00:24:18.419 --> 00:24:46.560
And then Metallica can have the watches. And yeah. Do we know what he was on yet? Was he smoking bath salts? What was up with that? We're talking about Pat O'Brien. Oh yeah, yeah. Funny picture. That was messed up. Let's refocus. Yeah, sorry. So does anybody else have any more album questions?

00:24:47.000 --> 00:25:16.680
Before I move on, I'm feeling a little bit short on the album questions. So what does a seriment mean? What does it mean to you? What does it mean to the listener? What does it mean? Describe. Well, seriment is like a death shroud. So honestly, this is kind of, you know, doesn't really matter now, but at the time we were making it, I kind of thought maybe it would,

00:25:16.980 --> 00:25:38.800
be the last thing we did. So I kind of wanted it to either be the last thing we did or kind of like the beginning, like a restart. Which it's kind of proven to be a restart for us, which is good. But at the time I was kind of thinking maybe it would be like the last thing. I don't know.

00:25:40.420 --> 00:25:41.560
That's just news to me.

00:25:42.000 --> 00:26:11.840
I know. I was just thinking, I haven't really told, I didn't really tell that to anybody in the band, so. Tell what? Sorry. Oh, I see what you just said. I was going to ditch you guys, but, you know, you're all right. Trap-in thing was really taken off. Yeah. No, this was after, this was after that, I think. Anyway. You know, Metal Archives just says that you're ex-trapped.

00:26:12.760 --> 00:26:41.740
Yeah, the band is gone now. Yeah, exactly. The whole band is X-Trap then. Yes. They were like, we cannot compete with Infero Brew, we're out. It's not just me, it's everybody, it's all four of us. We're all X-members now. The X-parent. Yeah. Something I've been wanting to ask you guys, and I found the answer, but I want you to explain a little bit more, but what does Infero Brew mean?

00:26:45.839 --> 00:27:11.720
It means like noise from hell. Or hellish noise. It's Esperanto, which is a weird language that they tried to... Somebody tried to make like a universal language. I can't remember exactly when this was. It was the late 1800s. Aha! See, you've researched it. I have. I just want to hear just why, I guess.

00:27:11.860 --> 00:27:37.900
Yeah, well, basically we wanted a name that no one else had, which is harder and harder to come by these days. And that was one of a whole list of names that our friend actually had going. Nobody in the band came up with that. Yeah, a friend of ours came up with that and we decided, you know, let's use it. It's hard to pronounce, it's hard to read, it's hard to remember.

00:27:38.380 --> 00:27:39.280
It's not hard to pronounce.

00:27:40.900 --> 00:27:41.980
going against us.

00:27:42.480 --> 00:27:44.240
It's short syllables, so that's easy.

00:27:44.710 --> 00:27:46.720
When you start having, you know, really long-ass

00:27:48.460 --> 00:27:50.340
titles, then that's difficult.

00:27:51.160 --> 00:27:52.600
You got a leg up for our friends in

00:27:52.940 --> 00:27:53.840
Ukiyaru, which

00:27:55.920 --> 00:27:57.760
I fucking love those guys.

00:27:58.020 --> 00:27:59.500
Another melodic black metal band.

00:27:59.940 --> 00:28:01.660
Not another, but a melodic black

00:28:01.770 --> 00:28:03.100
metal band out of Wisconsin, but

00:28:03.680 --> 00:28:05.680
they're trying to book a show at Atlas

00:28:05.830 --> 00:28:08.680
and Baltimore, and I'm trying to help them out.

00:28:08.770 --> 00:28:10.780
And I have to, like, spell it phonetically.

00:28:13.740 --> 00:28:37.220
They look at it like, what the fuck? Have you seen there's another similarly named band? I saw it on Bandcamp. It's like, Oot-Ki-R-E. There's like an E at the end instead of a U. So it's like a plural of nightmare. I don't know, but I was like, fuck you guys. You're not the real ones. And they're from what? Minnesota and not Wisconsin? The Cheese Wars.

00:28:40.820 --> 00:28:43.500
All right. Oh, I did have another question.

00:28:46.200 --> 00:28:50.560
So tell me about all these filler tracks.

00:28:52.240 --> 00:28:55.100
Oh, yeah. Yes. I'm glad you guys asked.

00:28:56.090 --> 00:28:59.300
I really would love to address this because no one ever asks.

00:28:59.540 --> 00:29:02.400
People are always just like, oh, those fucking intros suck.

00:29:04.160 --> 00:29:06.140
It's atmosphere. I get that.

00:29:07.480 --> 00:29:10.500
I mean, I actually get what they're for.

00:29:10.560 --> 00:29:37.240
And you can explain that too, if you want to. But I was also curious about how much grief people are giving you over it. Not that they should. I mean, it's not like the album's short or anything. Yeah, it's fine. I don't really give a shit. That's the whole thing. If I gave a shit about stuff like that, we wouldn't have put them on there. But for me, it was a good way to bookend the music.

00:29:39.820 --> 00:30:09.400
All three of those pieces come from the same... It's all three parts of one long ambient piece. And then each one has acoustic parts that were the beginnings of the songs as the intros. So they're not as afterthought-y as maybe some people think they are. They're kind of like... It's kind of like giving you a picture of like,

00:30:09.840 --> 00:30:38.660
the basics for what part of the song came from. It sets a tone. I guess so. That was the idea. If it's successful or not, I don't know. I don't care. It's successful for me, and that's the most important thing, I guess. Yeah, if you achieved what you were going for. Yeah, exactly. Honestly, when we came out of the recording sessions, especially with the last track, I knew that I would get grief about it anyway.

00:30:39.840 --> 00:31:09.800
of surprise to me. It's not like I'm not bummed out about it. I don't care. Has there been that much talk about it? Not too much. That's good. It's weird. The reviews either people like the ambient parts and really don't like that song Draped in Sky, which is kind of the slower song, or it's the opposite. They love that song and they don't like

00:31:09.840 --> 00:31:39.800
the ambient stuff. So I don't know why that is, but that's what I noticed. There's two kinds of people in this world. I like Draped in the Sky, by the way. Yeah. Well, there's three kinds of people that like both Draped and like the ambient stuff. There you go. That's interesting. So that would make me rule over those other guys. You want John to rule them all. I have to say during, I don't know if you guys intended this, but during Draped in the Sky, there was a moment

00:31:39.840 --> 00:32:09.800
towards the back third of the song where it just cuts and then you guys rip in and every time I think it's the next song and I check I'm like damn it it's the same song I get fooled every time by this yeah yeah but uh but I but I dig that though I think it's very cool thank you yeah it definitely feels like a different song it's kind of the uh that was the intention so yeah Chris what do you have to say about this stuff you know yeah I'm being mysterious bro okay fine

00:32:12.560 --> 00:32:39.560
Yeah, there's been quite a bit of reviews, I think, that knock it for those tracks. And honestly, it took me a while to kind of sign on to that whole thing, because I'm sort of like you assholes. You guys always say you skip the first track if it doesn't immediately start blasting away. No, no, no. I always skip the first track, no matter what. Because of this issue. No, no. Well, okay. No.

00:32:40.400 --> 00:33:05.400
There's two different situations here. What's that, Will? You do because of this issue. Well, yes. But what I'm saying is I don't never listen to the first track. But if it's a band that I've never heard before, I always start with the second track because I don't want to sit through an intro for a band I don't know. If I like it, I will go back and listen to the first track.

00:33:10.720 --> 00:33:39.000
You skip all that kids singing crap. Oh, yeah. But what if it was Dope Smoker? You would have skipped that whole album. What? Where's the album? This is bullshit. So fast. That's the thing, too. It's like, sometimes you get, I mean, the right mindset for stuff anyway. But I get that. I don't mind, you know, people not wanting to hear the stuff and skipping it. It's fine. I think the songs, the metal songs stand on their own anyway. So it's like, you know, whatever.

00:33:39.120 --> 00:34:08.840
If you don't like it, that's fine. I like ambient stuff. I mean, these guys are, well, John likes ambient stuff, so he's not giving me crap, but I'm with you. I'm with you. But, you know, I think it's kind of lame. I think you should listen to the first song. As a matter of fact, I think every album going forward from you guys should be like a six or seven minute just intro ambient piece. And then the second song should just be like a minute. It's like, fuck it. That's all you're getting. I dig that. I mean, I'm a sucker for a good intro. I mean, honestly, I like a good build up.

00:34:09.120 --> 00:34:13.179
not just in music. I do too, but what I don't like

00:34:13.780 --> 00:34:17.100
is a three-minute intro that leads into an album

00:34:17.280 --> 00:34:20.780
that I completely hate. So I just wasted three minutes listening to something going,

00:34:21.210 --> 00:34:23.879
all right, well, that's kind of a cool ambient thing. And then it's like

00:34:25.419 --> 00:34:28.419
horrible. So I'm like, I want to hear what they sound like first.

00:34:29.030 --> 00:34:31.899
And then I will go back and listen to it if I like the band.

00:34:32.409 --> 00:34:36.679
I think you're clarifying, to be fair, what we're talking about is that when we're just looking for new music,

00:34:37.020 --> 00:35:06.900
especially with George who gets all the promos for all the rest of us. It's like you just need to like like when I go through iTunes and new music comes out or Bandcamp and new music comes out like I'm listening for like you know in 20 seconds I can tell whether I'm going to like this or not. And if it's the first track you know. You want to get to the meat of the thing. Right. I want to know what the band's about. Yeah. How did you ever like Pink Floyd well? My dad played it a lot. I mean you would never get through Wish You Were Here.

00:35:09.580 --> 00:35:15.900
I bought my dad for Christmas one year, Momentary Lapse of Reason on cassette, and that's my favorite Pink Floyd album.

00:35:16.900 --> 00:35:17.180
Really?

00:35:17.780 --> 00:35:17.940
Yeah.

00:35:18.000 --> 00:35:24.300
It has Learning to Fly, Dogs of War, which is a big one.

00:35:24.460 --> 00:35:25.740
Roger Waters would beg to differ.

00:35:26.780 --> 00:35:26.840
Yeah.

00:35:27.300 --> 00:35:28.600
He wasn't part of the band.

00:35:28.860 --> 00:35:29.240
That's right.

00:35:30.680 --> 00:35:33.320
I was just reading that, what's his name?

00:35:34.340 --> 00:35:34.820
Nick Mason?

00:35:36.000 --> 00:35:36.460
Yes.

00:35:36.980 --> 00:36:06.020
They were talking to him about how he wishes they would just, you know, get over it and work together because he's friends with both of them. And he gets that big payday. Yeah. But apparently he says Roger Waters hasn't gotten over the fact that they carried on without him. Oh, man. Well, they're getting old, so they should either make it happen or, you know. Yep. It won't happen. I went to the Roger Waters tour where he did the wall a few years back, and that was amazing. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah.

00:36:09.520 --> 00:36:10.260
All right.

00:36:11.560 --> 00:36:11.760
So.

00:36:12.220 --> 00:36:12.400
Sorry.

00:36:13.920 --> 00:36:20.200
You got you got more questions because I got I got this new little rapid fire thing I'm going to do with these boys.

00:36:20.600 --> 00:36:21.280
Oh, shit.

00:36:21.380 --> 00:36:22.900
Let's get through a few more first.

00:36:22.980 --> 00:36:24.700
I've got let's talk about tour stuff.

00:36:25.760 --> 00:36:26.160
Tour stuff.

00:36:26.320 --> 00:36:27.300
Yeah, let's talk about it.

00:36:27.880 --> 00:36:28.160
So.

00:36:28.860 --> 00:36:30.920
So you guys are going to be touring in 2019.

00:36:31.900 --> 00:36:34.100
And I know you're coming here in February.

00:36:34.840 --> 00:37:04.400
and whether allowing I will be there. When is the tour starting and where will you be heading? We are doing pretty, let's see. Or can you not announce that yet? I looked online and I only saw the Baltimore show. Yeah, yeah. It's getting announced Friday. So this won't be up before that. Yeah, exactly. So what we have so far, and some of this might change,

00:37:04.840 --> 00:37:34.720
We might add some more dates, but right now Baltimore show is the first show. And then we have a go to Richmond, Raleigh, Atlanta, Memphis, Cleveland, Philly and New York. Nice. Wow. Yeah. So it should be good. It's kind of an East Coast run. Hopefully the weather's good. That's the one thing that can be a little iffy around.

00:37:34.840 --> 00:37:39.600
time. But yeah, last week, February into first week of March.

00:37:40.500 --> 00:37:43.220
Where are you playing at in Baltimore, in Richmond and Philly?

00:37:44.020 --> 00:37:48.240
Let's see. Baltimore, we are at a place called Joe Squared.

00:37:48.500 --> 00:37:52.040
Oh, yeah. No, actually, yeah. That's the pizza place next to Rams Head.

00:37:52.220 --> 00:37:53.360
It's not, though.

00:37:53.860 --> 00:37:54.420
It's not, though.

00:37:55.140 --> 00:37:58.500
Yeah, they moved or something. It's north of there now.

00:37:58.700 --> 00:38:01.380
But I thought there was one there, too.

00:38:02.340 --> 00:38:03.400
I think it's on North Avenue.

00:38:03.760 --> 00:38:33.640
Yeah, but it's still the pizza place. Yeah, it's actually really good. Yeah, it's good stuff. Yeah. So if the bands suck and not that they will, they're just at least pizza. It's always pizza. Yeah. And honestly, we sound better when you're eating pizza. Work out. Sorry, what were the other locations? What were you asking about? Richmond? Yeah, where in Richmond and where in Philly? Richmond is a place called The Camel. I don't know where that is. The Camel To? The Camel To.

00:38:33.760 --> 00:39:02.740
And Philly is Kung Fu Necktie, which I know where that is. Yeah. Horrendous just came through, and they played, I think, Kung Fu Necktie and had a less than positive experience. Oh, yeah? Interesting. They took like 30% of the door or something like that. Huh. Well, we have a good guy booking these shows for us, so hopefully everything runs smoothly.

00:39:03.880 --> 00:39:33.120
If you just want to add a date in DC, just saying you can play at Atlas and 100% of the money goes to the band, free beer, free food, free unlimited beer, free food, and you get all the money. Well, I'll have to talk to our guy about that. And then I can give you hugs. Special hugs? Yeah, be careful. He grabs your butt when you're not looking. Or when you are looking. Yeah.

00:39:33.760 --> 00:39:43.100
If you guys are really bored, I have hugs waiting for you in Minneapolis. I'm just saying.

00:39:44.420 --> 00:39:47.240
All right. It's my hometown, man. I'd love to.

00:39:47.720 --> 00:39:50.620
I'll pay for your gas. Whatever. Maybe I mean that. Maybe I don't. I don't know.

00:39:52.460 --> 00:39:54.240
I'm giving Eskimo kiss, too, but why not?

00:39:56.430 --> 00:40:00.920
I know there's two other bands playing with you in Baltimore. Are they just for Baltimore?

00:40:02.020 --> 00:40:03.000
Yeah, they're just for Baltimore.

00:40:03.340 --> 00:40:33.260
These are going to be just kind of like, you know, random shows, local bands playing with us. I haven't seen the details for the other shows yet, so we'll be announcing that stuff shortly. Cool. I know Myopic, one of the bands, and they're pretty cool. Nice. Okay. That's good. I want to check out the other one. They're the DC area band, right? Yeah, we just talked about them like one episode or two ago. Yeah, yeah. Cool. Excellent. Yeah, it should be fun. Hopefully this will lead us to even more touring.

00:40:33.540 --> 00:41:03.320
next year. It's kind of the goal for us is to do like, you know, get ourselves out there a little more. Because we've been a band for a while, but we haven't actually done a lot of road work, which I think has not helped us necessarily. So that definitely helps get you out there. Yeah, we're ready. We're ready to make it happen. Everyone. We're ready to hit the pizza circuit. Yes, we are. Speaking of that, we saw you guys at Shadow

00:41:03.340 --> 00:41:06.620
Is there opportunity to do some events like that? Maybe

00:41:07.360 --> 00:41:09.580
some one-offs here and there during the summer that might

00:41:09.700 --> 00:41:11.460
work out where you didn't have to hit the road for

00:41:11.560 --> 00:41:12.620
say an extended period of time?

00:41:13.340 --> 00:41:15.460
I would love to do more stuff like that.

00:41:16.320 --> 00:41:18.360
I know everyone in the band likes

00:41:18.800 --> 00:41:19.820
playing those kind of fests.

00:41:21.400 --> 00:41:23.280
I haven't heard from anyone

00:41:23.400 --> 00:41:24.740
about that stuff yet, but

00:41:25.220 --> 00:41:27.340
you never know. It's hard because I think a lot

00:41:27.340 --> 00:41:29.220
of people want to play a lot of

00:41:29.320 --> 00:41:29.820
these fests.

00:41:31.380 --> 00:41:33.320
These promoters are getting a lot of

00:41:34.299 --> 00:42:01.560
A lot of emails. So we'll see. We'll see what happens. Yeah. I know you guys aren't playing a decibel metal and beer in Philly, but are you going to attend? First of all, thanks for rubbing it in. I am attending for sure. See, what you need to do is when you're there, you need to go and see Albert and kind of hang out with him and get him to like you and be like, by the way, I got a band.

00:42:03.200 --> 00:42:28.380
Oh yeah, the schmoozing. Yes, schmooze Albert. I don't know how well that works, but it's worth a try. Yeah, we're not very good schmoozers. We're not good schmoozers. But yeah, it's a question mark for me. I definitely want to go, but it's kind of a, we'll see. We'll see where I'm at. Money wise. I'll be there. Excellent. We will see you there. We will all be there. I'll be pouring beer there. I'll be double duty.

00:42:29.360 --> 00:42:59.100
Can we do a Brough chant in between bands or something? Yeah, then they'll know. Old school? Yeah. Brough, Brough, Brough, Brough, Brough. Yeah, we'll get down front. Do you guys know, is Enslaved playing the same day as Tripticon, or is that dream not going to happen? Will? Oh, man. That would make or break it for me, because I'd like to see both of those bands. No, Enslaved.

00:42:59.360 --> 00:43:29.240
No, Trypticon is the main headliner on Sunday. And Enslaved and Obituary, and the main headliner on Saturday is Baroness, and I think Enslaved and Obituary are both playing that Saturday. Right, okay, interesting. If you give me a couple minutes and you guys continue to chat, I will look it up for sure. I'm pretty sure that's what it was, but... I think so. Yeah. Baroness is playing after Enslaved?

00:43:29.380 --> 00:43:59.100
Is that what you say? Yes. Yeah. Chris, my very thoughts. Say it out loud. Yeah. They're playing for us, so we'll put them at the beginning of the day. Yeah. Just kidding. Just kidding. Well, I just want to say to anybody listening that if you get the chance to go see Infero Brewer while they are out on the road, I recommend you do it. As John mentioned, we saw them at Shadow Woods, and they blew me away. I'm not even kissing your guys' asses.

00:43:59.480 --> 00:44:29.200
I was very impressed. Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you, George. George, I watched your video and I was equally blown away. I was impressed with the video. It was just an iPhone video. I was like, damn, that sounds good. Imagine actually being there. How did you guys feel about playing in that lodge? That was a little different. It was, you know. A little warm. The stage would be nice. It was really hot. Yeah, to be totally honest, there were some sound issues.

00:44:29.360 --> 00:44:58.860
for us at that show. But, you know, I kind of, we expect that kind of thing to happen. So we got through it. Didn't notice it on our end. All right. It's good. It felt like a hardcore show at like a VFW. Yeah, yeah. No stage. It had like a list of rules behind us. It was kind of funny because when you guys were playing, people were walking behind you to go to the bathroom. You see the door open and it closed. Playing in front of the bathroom too, yeah. All right. I have your answer. Okay. Excellent.

00:45:01.820 --> 00:45:29.340
Trypticon and Enslaved are playing the same day on Sunday. So the Sunday lineup as of right now, starting from the earliest to the latest is Outer Heaven, Heavy Temple, Rosetta, Deceased, Enslaved, Doing Frost, Deaf Heaven, and Trypticon. That's perfect. There's a nice little Deaf Heaven break between. I'll be there then, honestly. If that's the case. All right. And then

00:45:29.360 --> 00:45:58.780
Saturday, starting from beginning to end, uh, wake to mold tombs. You are to X quarter obituary and Baroness. Okay. Next to tombs. I actually like a Saturday's lineup better because I like all those bands, although I wish obituary was headlining and I like Baroness is fun. They, we, um, I saw them somewhere. Um, uh, the Howard's, the Howard theater here in DC.

00:45:59.360 --> 00:46:29.340
I mean they put on a great show and they're good show it's just showmanship kind of show I've never seen them so I you know I'm not a big fan of the music as much anymore but I do want to see them I like the earlier albums a lot better but it's hard it's hard for me because obituary is one of my all-time favorite bands and they're playing my absolute favorite obituary album calls of death so it's like what yeah so I'm actually in a weird sort of way glad they're going earlier because there's a better chance I'll be less drawn

00:46:29.380 --> 00:46:58.640
Yeah. If they brought James Murphy out for that. I was just going to say. I wish James Murphy was going to be playing. I don't know what that guy's up to. He's producing and engineering stuff. Okay. Should be doing more. Yeah. Should be doing more guitar solos. Well, I think he does the occasional like, you know, solo, like instrumental album. I was just thinking the other day, I want the second Disincarnate. Yeah.

00:46:59.360 --> 00:47:00.600
Hold your breath on that one.

00:47:01.600 --> 00:47:02.280
It's not going to happen.

00:47:02.780 --> 00:47:02.880
No.

00:47:05.000 --> 00:47:05.580
I'll just,

00:47:05.940 --> 00:47:12.860
I'll just state for the record that three of the bands invited to just this year's fest have played Atlas.

00:47:13.000 --> 00:47:14.000
So I think if you play Atlas,

00:47:14.680 --> 00:47:17.160
you get a little more exposure with Albert and then you may get invited.

00:47:17.280 --> 00:47:18.820
Just throwing it out there,

00:47:18.900 --> 00:47:18.960
guys.

00:47:20.040 --> 00:47:20.420
Just,

00:47:20.620 --> 00:47:20.780
you know,

00:47:20.980 --> 00:47:21.500
I like that.

00:47:21.800 --> 00:47:22.260
Speaking out loud.

00:47:22.740 --> 00:47:22.800
Yeah.

00:47:22.920 --> 00:47:24.280
Albert hang out at the Atlas.

00:47:24.900 --> 00:47:25.020
No.

00:47:26.640 --> 00:47:27.340
Why not?

00:47:28.640 --> 00:47:28.900
I mean,

00:47:29.040 --> 00:47:57.680
He's ever been there. He'll be there for the kickoff show. The kickoff show this year is at Atlas. But so, Galen, we mentioned earlier that you spent the fall touring the U.S. What the hell is wrong with me? Give me a beer. Are you in Southeast right now, George? I don't know. You spent the fall touring the U.S. I have... You spent the fall touring U.S. in a glory hole.

00:48:00.320 --> 00:48:28.980
Man, I'm getting a beer fuck shit. Now I have to leave that in. George, do you want to text one of us and we'll say it? No, I'm just waiting for the laughter to die down. You spent the fall pounding my ass. You spent the fall touring the U.S. with Behemoth and

00:48:29.000 --> 00:48:58.240
Wolves on the Throne Room. And you're about to head out to Europe to continue that tour is my understanding. How did you end up helping out Wolves on the Throne Room? And do you have any cool stories from the road so far? Well, first of all, just to clarify, when you say I'm touring with them, I'm not like playing an instrument. No, no, I... I'm not like a member of any of these bands. No, no, that's... Yeah. What I do is just... I'm like a stage manager for Wolves on the Throne Room. Right.

00:48:59.700 --> 00:49:05.000
I make sure everything is running properly, setting up gear, unloading gear, roadie stuff.

00:49:05.160 --> 00:49:05.720
Roadie stuff, yeah.

00:49:06.920 --> 00:49:08.420
So that's what I do for them.

00:49:10.020 --> 00:49:12.460
They become good friends of mine at this point.

00:49:14.000 --> 00:49:18.080
So yeah, they're nice enough to bring me out when we do these tours.

00:49:18.700 --> 00:49:22.140
And that was a really, really good time.

00:49:22.550 --> 00:49:27.200
The man you forgot to mention is At The Gates, who are legendary.

00:49:27.700 --> 00:49:27.860
Yes.

00:49:28.020 --> 00:49:56.820
And also super awesome guys. So it was actually kind of like a real rediscovery. I mean, I like at the gates, but when I was younger, I really loved at the gates and seeing them play every night kind of reignited this like a youngster. Yeah, exactly. That's cool. So did you get to meet Nurgle and stuff like that?

00:49:58.020 --> 00:50:27.400
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I, my, you know, we were out there for over a month for like six weeks. So there was time to meet people and talk to people. It's good. Did he ever offer you free beer and a haircut if you go to Poland? Jay, Jay met him and, uh, and he, he made a little video for him because, because Jay was going to Poland and told the people at his, at his barber shop to give him free beer and a haircut. And they did. Yeah. Oh, that's cool.

00:50:28.020 --> 00:50:56.280
I can only say that Jay only has slightly more hair than you when he had a haircut. He had a quarter of an inch and he cut it out about an eighth of an inch. Oh nice. Is the European tour going through Poland? It's a good question. I actually don't have the dates in front of me. I don't think so. Maybe there's one date there. I don't know. I'll have to look.

00:50:58.020 --> 00:51:24.200
A lot of Germany. A lot of stuff like that. A lot of England. Gotta love Germany. Yeah. Germany will be fun. Definitely have a fun spot for that now. Really? After Wacken, you have a fun spot? Hey. It's kind of like childbirth. After a little while, you're like, that was fun. Let's do that again.

00:51:28.040 --> 00:51:57.720
Yeah. Well, you know, other than the wound and the bugs and the wet tent and the sand in your vagina. No place to take a dump and no showering. Other than all that stuff, it was wonderful. And everybody pissing everywhere. Every two feet. Jesus. Yeah. Fucking Germans. You tend to forget all the bad stuff.

00:51:58.040 --> 00:52:27.140
You just remember that beautiful moment when you're on the main field. There's dudes with backpacks full of beer. Yes. Where else do you get that? Chris, were you there with Matt and George? You guys were all there at the same time, right? He's our vodka brother. Together. I shared a tent with George. Yeah. I'm so sorry to go. Yeah, sorry about that. And a tent next to me. Who was pitching a tent?

00:52:28.020 --> 00:52:28.580
I was.

00:52:31.000 --> 00:52:32.060
Noses don't count.

00:52:34.380 --> 00:52:42.480
So Galen, did you make any cool contacts on that tour? Like, you know, were you talking to any of the bands going, you know, I got a band, maybe you could take us out sometime.

00:52:44.960 --> 00:52:45.860
Shameless self-promotion.

00:52:46.200 --> 00:52:55.680
Yeah, as tempting as that is sometimes, I find that that's not really the way to do things when you're working for bands, you know.

00:52:55.760 --> 00:52:56.720
That's not very tactful.

00:52:57.620 --> 00:53:25.760
Yeah. So, no, not really. You know, I talked to them about music and stuff. Some of the guys, you know, they're aware. They're aware of stuff I'm doing. So, yeah. Well, as good as you guys are, it just makes sense to me that you guys, you know, I mean, this tour is a great start. I'd love to see you guys picked up to go out with somebody even bigger, get more exposure because, you know, you sound ready to me as far as I'm concerned.

00:53:27.060 --> 00:53:57.040
Thank you. Thank you. We'd love to get on an opening slot for something. Do like a real lengthy thing, you know? But we'll see. We've got a new year coming, so hopefully something will happen with it. Hmm. Yeah. All right. So we are nearing the end of 2018 right now. This won't actually air until January, but because of you going back out on

00:53:57.100 --> 00:54:25.580
We shoehorned this in so we could get the interview done. Thank you. What albums are you liking this year? I asked if you guys could do like a top 10 albums for us. Oh yeah. You guys want to run through that? Yeah. Chris, you want to go first? Yeah. So I like that we're just going with Chris because I think last time we were on, we only called Unutrino. Yeah.

00:54:27.060 --> 00:54:56.940
Everyone's just fucking over it. Just call him, you know. Nobody fucking cares. Yeah, well, you know, after... My career's over. After spending a bunch of days in the tent next to the guy, you just can't call him Neutrino to his face anymore. Yeah, exactly. There was a couple episodes ago that you guys are calling Chris or something. I'm like, wait, is that Neutrino? And you're like, yeah. I'm like, okay. I got confused because I only knew Neutrino. Yeah, you just called him Neutrino the last time we talked.

00:54:57.080 --> 00:55:26.880
Yeah. It's like you were on Masked Like Kiss back in the early 80s. I thought you were like a Marvel superhero. Mystery is gone. My tattoo still says Neutrino, so there. Yeah. So yeah, Neutrino, maybe you should start with your list, huh? I'm curious. I don't know Neutrino's list, but he knows mine. We won't know anything on it anyway, because it's all Satan's tin cup anus band.

00:55:28.920 --> 00:55:57.040
For the most part, yeah. All right. Most of this I can't even pronounce, to be perfectly honest, because I did a pretty deep dive on Polish metal this year for some reason. There's a lot of cool things happening there, it seems like. So my first... Wait, are you going from number one or are you going from number ten? Number ten. Yeah, ten down. So yeah, my number ten is...

00:55:57.060 --> 00:55:59.000
It's a band called Kly.

00:56:01.300 --> 00:56:03.860
And, uh, Jesus, I can't pronounce this.

00:56:04.320 --> 00:56:05.420
Sisters Zenzhenia.

00:56:06.660 --> 00:56:08.860
S. This is a lot of S's and Z's.

00:56:09.310 --> 00:56:11.080
Is this the name of the album or the name of the S?

00:56:11.600 --> 00:56:12.780
This is the name of the album.

00:56:13.260 --> 00:56:13.880
It's like atmospheric.

00:56:14.400 --> 00:56:16.340
It's like weird atmospheric black metal.

00:56:16.960 --> 00:56:17.080
Okay.

00:56:18.340 --> 00:56:21.140
I'm going to do some very interesting guitar work and stuff.

00:56:24.480 --> 00:56:31.080
SZE-ZE-R-ZE-E-N-I-E-S-Z-E.

00:56:31.640 --> 00:56:32.000
Isn't that a drink?

00:56:32.000 --> 00:56:33.800
I can tell you exactly how they came up with that album title.

00:56:33.820 --> 00:56:36.780
This is how they came up with that album title.

00:56:36.940 --> 00:56:42.940
They let their daughter bang on the computer, and this is what came up because that's what happens in my house.

00:56:43.540 --> 00:56:44.980
Well, Polish keyboards don t have vowels.

00:56:44.980 --> 00:56:45.520
That's a good technique.

00:56:47.740 --> 00:56:49.380
Is there a chat function in here?

00:56:49.620 --> 00:57:19.580
I can give a shit. Yeah. They'll just look up the band name. That's a little easier. All right. So should we trade off? Gail, you go next? Oh, sure. Yeah. I have a runner up, which is the At The Gates to Drink From The Night Itself, which is a great album. And again, seeing them play some of the new songs every night next to the old songs, I got a pretty deep appreciation for the new stuff because it really does hold

00:57:19.620 --> 00:57:49.220
up very well against the old stuff. Yeah, so then my number 10 is Alice in Chains, Rainier Fog. Nice. Yeah, that was a good album. Very good album. Excellent album. Is it metal, though? Yeah, it's metal. Metal of Jesus. It's got enough chugging to be thrown into metal, I think. It's probably more metal than a new Thrasenblatt album, which I love, but.

00:57:50.440 --> 00:58:18.020
Don't get George started. Pushing my buttons. I love the fact that when we talk to you guys, you actually listen to the podcast. So many jokes. A lot of gay jokes, guys. We were actually cleaning it up. Yeah, my mom listens once in a while, I think. And I'm just like, oh, my God. Yeah. By the way,

00:58:19.740 --> 00:58:49.580
slash neutrino every the way you're sitting and when you're drinking that that soy is finest kind it's like you're teasing me of my time my dad lives in new hampshire and so uh that's my that's my go-to yeah smutty nose um so my number nine is uh swedish black metal band uh skogen s-k-o-g-e-n um i don't think i've heard that new one actually yeah

00:58:51.299 --> 00:59:18.920
It's not as good as the previous one. That was my number one, actually, in like 2014 or whenever that came out. And it's called Skugorna Kalar. It doesn't matter what it's called. That one rolled off your tongue a little easier, though. That was good, yeah. There's a lot of finest kind talking. Can I roll off your tongue a little easier? Gay joke! Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh, and he's blushing.

00:59:23.060 --> 00:59:23.620
Okay.

00:59:24.040 --> 00:59:24.740
Okay.

00:59:27.140 --> 00:59:29.560
It's a little pre-show for what's coming up this weekend.

00:59:29.900 --> 00:59:30.500
Oh my gosh.

00:59:32.400 --> 00:59:33.420
What are you guys doing this weekend?

00:59:33.560 --> 00:59:34.360
The year-end episode.

00:59:35.480 --> 00:59:35.940
Oh, nice.

00:59:36.000 --> 00:59:37.500
The drunken disaster.

00:59:38.680 --> 00:59:41.060
Which is actually called the rear-end episode.

00:59:44.060 --> 00:59:46.180
The year-end, rear-end.

00:59:46.860 --> 01:00:16.840
The Jay episode from the LA show, that was a pretty hard beer-fused calamity. That first day, oh my god. Jesus lord. When Jay starts drinking, he starts turning into Kermit the Frog. It's like, and you guys. What I love about that is it makes me feel better about myself from my antics in so many episodes to include the Metal and Beer Fest

01:00:16.880 --> 01:00:20.760
Philly show where I am shithoused every second of that episode.

01:00:21.860 --> 01:00:24.560
It was a stark contrast when they got to day two and they're like,

01:00:24.960 --> 01:00:29.640
and here we are on day two. It's just like, not enough beer that day, I guess.

01:00:30.040 --> 01:00:35.000
Which to me makes sense because the one beer fest that I went to,

01:00:35.060 --> 01:00:37.600
the first day I got pretty hammered and the second day I was like,

01:00:38.360 --> 01:00:41.680
okay, let's go to the show now and drink a little less.

01:00:44.480 --> 01:00:45.040
Be careful.

01:00:45.760 --> 01:00:45.860
Yeah.

01:00:47.260 --> 01:00:50.500
All right, so back to nine.

01:00:52.380 --> 01:00:56.460
My number nine is Abigor Holenzwang.

01:00:57.180 --> 01:00:58.480
I don't know if that's how you say it.

01:00:59.500 --> 01:01:01.960
There's an umlaut, so maybe it's Holenzwang.

01:01:03.000 --> 01:01:09.700
But a note about that, I listened to the digital files and thought it was pretty cool and kind of insane.

01:01:10.540 --> 01:01:39.900
And then I read a little about the vinyl copy. And apparently they rejected a lot of the vinyl and went to a very specific plating place to get it kind of cut the way the old vinyl is cut. So it's not from the same masters and it sounds significantly different. And it's the one time recently that I can remember where the vinyl version sounds way better.

01:01:39.980 --> 01:02:08.940
than the digital files. And especially for something as gnarly as that album, which is really noisy and chaotic, listening to the vinyl is actually really interesting because you can hear what's going on. So anyway, it's a good one. It's a good one on vinyl. I don't think I've heard that. Is this a full album? Oh yeah, it's amazing. I thought I heard something like a single or something at some point. It's totally unhinged. It's totally nuts.

01:02:09.040 --> 01:02:38.360
All right. I'll be checking that out. Very hard. Very hard to listen to. Very hard to listen to. Oh, good. Tin Can. Even for me, yeah, it's pretty fucked. It's pretty fucked. My number eight is another Polish band, Gorich. G-O-R-Y-C-Z. And the record is called Piach, P-I-A-C-H, which means sand, I think. And it's like avant-garde-ish black metal with a lot of sludge elements.

01:02:39.060 --> 01:03:06.420
And again, it's very innovative. It actually sort of grosses me out in some weird way, which is kind of cool. I don't fully like it, to be perfectly honest. A little repulsed by it? Sort of, yeah. It kind of creeps me out in an interesting way. It's kind of like a slower Death Spell Omega sort of thing. It's interesting. Yeah, that's what I like about you guys. And Matt, too.

01:03:06.960 --> 01:03:34.660
You always come up with stuff that I have not heard of. And I'm like looking under every rock and every pebble for new music. And you always find shit that I don't know. So kudos to that. Well, not me. Mine are all pretty standard here. My number eight is Marduk, Victoria. That's a great album, though. That really is. Yeah, excellent album. In fact, I completely forgot about that one for my list. Right, right.

01:03:37.840 --> 01:04:06.220
That's because it's not that good. It is good. Harm's way. Post-Human. That's the album. It's just like real brutal, real fucking dumb, beat-down hardcore shit. I was going to say, I thought that was hardcore. Yeah, it's, you know, I'm kind of a sucker for really ignorant sounding stuff. It's just really good workout music, too. It's like gym metal, basically.

01:04:07.400 --> 01:04:35.600
I also have a person on here just to annoy the shit out of Galen. Okay, my what are we at? Seven is Immortal, more than Chaos Gods. That was a surprise to me because I honestly when I heard that they're putting out a record, I didn't expect it to be an Immortal album. I didn't expect it to be good. That's what I thought too, but I was wrong.

01:04:36.760 --> 01:05:06.340
It's awesome. Cool. Number six is Kriegsmaschine. That's a good one. Wow, you guys have heard that one? That's cool. Yeah, it's great. I love it. Apocalypticists. And it's by two of the guys from Megwa, the Polish black metal band. It's very different from Megwa, but I mean, you can tell that it's them, but it's statistically,

01:05:06.740 --> 01:05:36.720
It's very different. It's more rhythmic and droney. There's not really blast beats or tremolo or anything like that. Very good stuff. I have not heard that. I sent it to you. I know, but you sent it to me on my phone, which I just don't listen to it if you send it to me in a text. You go one chance. You gotta email it. You gotta email it to me, then I'll listen to it. Six for me is

01:05:37.260 --> 01:06:06.680
with Doom We Come. Excellent album to play Magic the Gathering to, among other fantasy-based activities. What other fantasy-based activities are there? Like roleplay? Yeah. Like swapping or something? No comment. I think you hit on something there, Will.

01:06:07.800 --> 01:06:36.680
Come on, you got another gay joke and you will. Come on. I love it when we embarrass the guests. They're like, these guys are just crazy. Or offensive or something. I don't know. How did they know? My number five is Aura Noir with Aura Noir. There's an E on the end of that, isn't there? There's an E on the end of that. Aura Noir. No need to comment.

01:06:37.800 --> 01:07:04.520
Excellent album. Excellent album. There is a comment. The Toms sound like shit. Other than that, it's perfect. I mean, the whole thing sort of sounds like shit in a typical horror noir way. Yeah, but it sounds like shit in a good way. But then the Toms sound like shit in a bad way. Like they're banging on Satan's taint. But yeah, the music is so fucking good. Can you sample that yourself, George? Banging on Satan's taint.

01:07:08.100 --> 01:07:36.700
Sorry, I'm just trying to make it awkward now. Let's see here. I feel like this band, like this record didn't get really any recognition at all. Shame. If this was, you know, if this was a better market and like on a trendy label and more produced and like people would be all over it. Absolutely. Weren't they in the tent at Valken? Wasn't that them? Yeah. And you guys left to go see.

01:07:37.920 --> 01:08:05.360
That was because the singer looked like a heavy metal Beezys guy. He was like Andy Gibbon and like Kronos had a baby. If you're listening to this shit. What did we go see? The singer happens to be a fucking genius, by the way. One of the heavy hitters of Norwegian black metal. And Swedish pop. Sorry, that's ABBA.

01:08:06.760 --> 01:08:36.100
Andy Gibbon sounded like Kronos. Oh my fuck. I was at Sepultura wasn't I? Yes. What do we got here? Five. Droot. Whatever the name of that album is. They often see dreams about this one. Yes. Excellent album. I can agree with that.

01:08:38.640 --> 01:09:06.259
My number four is not an actual full-blown album. It's a split. That probably breaks some rule of yours without a deal with it. It's by a band called Thuis de R's. I think I sent this to George. You did? And the other band is Thuis de R's. They're both Dutch bands. I think that made a list that I read online, too. Stereo Gumhead is number one.

01:09:08.420 --> 01:09:36.319
I actually only really liked the first song by Flewsterars and I really like that fucking song it kind of speaks to me in some magical ways probably because it reminds me of my own writing oh that's that one okay that's the neutrino song yeah my writing is genius apparently of course I'm gonna have this at the top of the list make sure you send your stuff to stereo gum then because obviously I like it

01:09:36.359 --> 01:10:06.060
I love it. Four, mine's Orin Noir. Oh wait, I didn't say the name. It's D-E-O-R-D. Two words. Sorry. Well, do your next one. My four is Orin Noir, so nothing to say about that. Okay, number three, Funeral Mist, Hecatomb. That is a good album. Yes, it is. My three is Voivod, The Wake.

01:10:08.260 --> 01:10:36.320
I applaud that excellent excellent stuff I you know when piggy died I thought they were done I was like you know he he was their sound yeah and his new guys amazing and yeah he's like I don't know if he's trying he's got to be trying to you know play in the style but he does it fabulously yeah yeah he's he's like the perfect replacement it's

01:10:36.340 --> 01:11:05.000
Yeah. I love it. All right. Number two is Ascension Under Ether. A German black metal band with a lot of other stuff thrown in. Death metal and pretty virtuos, virtuosic, is that a word? Guitar playing. That was on my mid-year. I like that album. Yeah. Yeah. I have neglected that since earlier in the year.

01:11:06.360 --> 01:11:34.740
I kept coming back to it all year. Got the vinyl. The songwriting on it is especially good. My two is Funeral Mist. So yeah, so I can just talk about that. It's an amazing, amazing album. Do you guys ever do this like, you complete me? We do in some ways, but then I also have Harm's Way on here, which makes Gail a fucking murder.

01:11:38.040 --> 01:12:06.300
My number one is Druk. I figured that had to be on there. Nice. My number one should be everyone's number one, which is Judas Priest, Firefly. Yeah, there's nothing bad to say about it. It's a phenomenal album all the way through. That's another album from a veteran band that was surprising.

01:12:07.400 --> 01:12:36.280
Yeah, it's killer. It's really good. Yeah. We saw them last year. No, it was this year. Obviously it was this year. The album came out this year. They just announced another tour too, which I'm going to go see. They're coming back, same place, Anthem here in DC. Yeah. It's Uriah Heat. Exactly. But it's only like a week before or after the Slayer.

01:12:36.360 --> 01:12:37.640
coming back again.

01:12:38.660 --> 01:12:39.020
Yeah.

01:12:39.200 --> 01:12:39.540
And.

01:12:39.740 --> 01:12:40.900
Priest is going to be better than Sam.

01:12:40.920 --> 01:12:41.020
Yeah.

01:12:41.120 --> 01:12:42.520
But Amon Amarth and.

01:12:44.000 --> 01:12:44.360
Yeah.

01:12:44.520 --> 01:12:45.380
You got Uriah Heep.

01:12:46.840 --> 01:12:48.240
Although I don't know what they sound like now.

01:12:48.320 --> 01:12:48.660
It could be.

01:12:48.830 --> 01:12:49.100
It could be.

01:12:50.680 --> 01:12:51.040
Awful.

01:12:51.800 --> 01:12:51.940
Yeah.

01:12:53.160 --> 01:12:53.580
So I don't know.

01:12:53.670 --> 01:12:53.940
We'll see.

01:12:55.300 --> 01:12:55.600
Nice.

01:12:56.540 --> 01:12:56.820
All right.

01:12:56.870 --> 01:12:56.980
Well.

01:12:57.580 --> 01:12:59.000
Thank you for those lists.

01:13:00.140 --> 01:13:00.500
Um.

01:13:01.320 --> 01:13:03.160
It's always good to have a different perspective.

01:13:04.400 --> 01:13:05.780
Is that a nice way of seeing it?

01:13:05.960 --> 01:13:07.960
Your list sucks! No, no.

01:13:10.220 --> 01:13:13.700
What I was going to say is that I was surprised how many of those I actually knew.

01:13:15.580 --> 01:13:16.300
Particularly Chris.

01:13:16.300 --> 01:13:17.020
I did not know.

01:13:17.420 --> 01:13:19.280
Because Chris is always sending me stuff.

01:13:19.310 --> 01:13:19.780
I'm like, what?

01:13:19.970 --> 01:13:20.800
Dude, what is this?

01:13:21.980 --> 01:13:23.140
And I know I like some of it.

01:13:23.260 --> 01:13:24.380
Some of it I'm like, well, I don't know.

01:13:24.440 --> 01:13:25.060
That's a little weird.

01:13:25.580 --> 01:13:28.620
But I love that he's always sending me stuff I don't know.

01:13:28.840 --> 01:13:30.340
So please continue.

01:13:31.620 --> 01:13:32.400
No, I will.

01:13:32.620 --> 01:13:33.480
He's good at that.

01:13:33.680 --> 01:13:33.760
Yeah.

01:13:34.380 --> 01:13:34.720
All right.

01:13:34.840 --> 01:14:04.820
Well, do we have any more questions? Let's do this. Yeah, let's do this rapid fire. I got some stuff for you. So I'm going to ask each one of you guys a question. I'm going to start with Galen first, then go to Neutrino. I'm going to ask you one question. You have exactly like three fucking seconds to answer these questions. Exactly. This is scary. Yeah. You've got to think

01:14:04.840 --> 01:14:34.700
Quick on your feet. Some of it's music related, some of it's completely not. Okay. So. All right. This is new. Galen, are you ready? I think so. I'm not ready. I'm not ready. You shouldn't be because you have no idea what's coming at you. No idea. Let's do it. And Chris, if you think what's coming at him and you're going to get the next one, you don't know what's coming at him. But maybe you will. You don't know. Get back in the pile. All right. You ready? Yeah. All right.

01:14:34.860 --> 01:14:47.880
Galen. Wait, hold on a second. Are you asking me one and then Chris one? I'm going to ask you one. I'm going to ask Chris one. I'm going to ask you one. I'm going to ask Chris one. Okay. Are there right answers? No. Well, there's just,

01:15:04.860 --> 01:15:33.400
That's my answer. I have to expand another one to ask Neutrino. Okay, you ready? Yeah. Expand the big four by one. Go. Testament. Good answer. Neutrino, Exodus versus Testament. Which one? Testament. Galen, pizza or sushi? Pizza. Neutrino, scotch or bourbon? Neither.

01:15:37.300 --> 01:16:04.240
Galen, boxes or briefs? Boxers. Chris, eutrino, stouts or IPAs? IPAs. Galen, venom or bathory? Bathory. Chris, vegetarian or carnivore? Carnivore. For sure. Giant. Galen, doggy style or missionary? Oh, dang.

01:16:04.840 --> 01:16:34.000
I don't want to know. Doggy style. It's not metal to be a missionary. Chris, Coke or Pepsi? Neither. Galen, Star Wars or Star Trek? Star Trek. Last one. Neutrino, Sabbath or Zeppelin?

01:16:35.400 --> 01:17:02.680
All right. That's it. All right. Did we pass? There's no right or wrong. There's no right answer. We're just shaking stuff up. We're just having some fun. Yeah, that's good. I feel shaken up. Like a Polaroid Pantano. I was hoping you were going to say commando instead of boxers or briefs.

01:17:04.840 --> 01:17:34.740
Really, box of briefs would be the proper answer, but I wasn't thinking on my feet. So when are we going to see you gentlemen next? Possibly Decibel Medal and Beer Fest? Well, February. Yeah, if you guys are around, come to the show. If not, then yeah, I guess the Decibel thing, because I'm definitely going to come down now. On the Sunday. On the Sunday thing, yeah. Let us know when you book hotel rooms. Yeah. We'll have a bunch of gays.

01:17:38.560 --> 01:18:01.820
Oh, it's not gay if you like it? No, it's only gay if you like it. Why are you doing it if you don't like it? Well, if you're in prison and you have to do it, you're not gay. But if you like doing it, then you're gay. Well, not that there's anything wrong with that. You just can't stop, can you? Oh, dear.

01:18:04.840 --> 01:18:34.380
All right. Well, if there aren't any other questions, we will wrap this up. Before we go, make sure to go pick up a copy of Cerement and the earlier stuff and support the band. You can find it on Bandcamp, iTunes, and I'm sure lots of other good places as well. Is there any other places you want to mention? No, those are good places. Get everything through Bandcamp at this point, so it's a good spot to start. All right. So go check it out. Pick it up. Love it.

01:18:34.460 --> 01:19:03.400
Love it. Learn it. Thanks for coming on, guys. Thank you for all the gases you've passed tonight. What I enjoy about the podcast is when we interview bands that we love who also listen to the podcast and they get all the jokes. There's a vibe there.

01:19:04.480 --> 01:19:33.780
you guys, obviously, me only once at MDF a couple years ago. But I like it when we interview people that we know, that we love, and you listen, and it just makes for a fun time. So thank you from all of us. Absolutely. Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. Appreciate the support. Actually, I did have one other question. I forgot. I thought about it. Classic George. Classic George.

01:19:34.460 --> 01:20:01.840
No, this is how it took you so long to release this album. I would have to suspect that there's probably a buildup of material possibly in the wings already for something else. Is this a gay thing? I did put emphasis on buildup to sexualize it. How big are your balls right now?

01:20:06.640 --> 01:20:34.180
Your suspicion would be correct. We're a little backed up with riffs right now. So there's a lot of stuff happening and it won't take us long to have a new record. Excellent, excellent. Obviously, it's a little premature to talk about that as yet. But it's good to know that, you know, you're working on stuff too. Well, I think they gave us a heads up.

01:20:34.460 --> 01:20:36.360
on Facebook just recently.

01:20:36.720 --> 01:20:37.580
I think I saw a post.

01:20:38.220 --> 01:20:38.620
Oh, really?

01:20:39.320 --> 01:20:39.900
I didn't see that.

01:20:40.860 --> 01:20:45.180
I believe there was a picture of a drum set and something going on this weekend.

01:20:45.540 --> 01:20:46.980
So I guess I'm a little behind.

01:20:47.280 --> 01:20:48.480
Well, that's, you know what though?

01:20:48.540 --> 01:20:52.900
That's actually something different, but there is stuff happening.

01:20:53.360 --> 01:20:53.720
Fair enough.

01:20:54.440 --> 01:20:55.640
So, yes.

01:20:55.780 --> 01:20:56.040
All right.

01:20:56.940 --> 01:21:00.000
Well, thanks again for coming on and Galen, enjoy Europe.

01:21:01.040 --> 01:21:01.720
Hope that's a blast.

01:21:02.040 --> 01:21:02.880
Thanks for having us.

01:21:03.220 --> 01:21:04.220
It's always a pleasure.

01:21:04.720 --> 01:21:34.240
Thank you. Thank you. It's been a blast. See you guys soon. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Gentlemen, we'll see you either in Baltimore or in Philly. One or the other, or both. All right. All right. Until then, see ya. Later. All right. So that was our interview with Galen and Chris. And now Chris is here once again to finish out the rest of this episode with us. Wait, did I miss something? Did we? Yeah. No, it was good. We just did the fucking. That was a great interview, by the way.

01:21:34.280 --> 01:22:00.460
It was awesome. Some of my best questions. No, you are so talkative, too, strangely. I don't remember what we talked about. So I'm anxious to listen to the episode myself. The only thing I remember for that interview is less dick jokes. Yeah, yeah. Galen was very like, oh my. No, he was more like, oh my. Just better dick jokes.

01:22:04.300 --> 01:22:20.580
So last weekend, John and I went out to see Will in Purcellville, Virginia, at Adroit Theory Brewing for the dawn of a dark day beer and metal fest that I'm going to let Will tell you more about.

01:22:21.550 --> 01:22:32.640
Okay, yeah, sorry. So Mark Osborne, who's the owner of Adroit Theory, who I've known for a year, you know, it's a small brewing community, everyone kind of knows each other.

01:22:32.960 --> 01:23:02.940
And so he's invited to all the Decibel Metal Beer Fest. So he's got a very metal aesthetic to his brewery. He does like metal. So he wanted to have a heavy metal show at his fifth anniversary Dawn of the Dark Day Festival. So he hit me up and said, Will, I got horrendous lined up. Help me put this thing together. So I just so I booked Outer Heaven and I booked the mighty Foe

01:23:07.240 --> 01:23:32.020
I'm actually from Northern Virginia, so I'm wearing my Outer Heaven long-sleeve t-shirt. I wanted one of those. I tried to buy one, but they were like, no, we don't have any fat guy sizes. Try online. Hey, man. Hey, hey, hey. Stop talking about my friend like that. He just lost 30 pounds. Yeah, exactly. Still not small enough to get into one of their two exes, though. Working on it.

01:23:32.060 --> 01:24:00.540
So I was absolutely delighted to be the whatever host, producer, whatever promoter of this show. So it was a lot of fun. So I got to put this thing on at another brewery, not Atlas, but I did it at Adroit. And it was a fucking blast. It was. It was a good show. There was a lot of local celebrities there, aside from obviously John and George. Us. The biggest celebrities.

01:24:00.920 --> 01:24:30.580
Well, I mean, in our minds, in our minds, in pan size. Yes. But, um, but Albert was there. I say pan size. I mean, in the pants, you know what I mean? But, uh, uh, you know, the guys from decibel were there. Uh, J.R. Hayes from pig destroyer was there. Uh, was it Chris Riddick, the artist, the metal artist, Mark Riddick, Mark Riddick, a metal artist for cover artist.

01:24:30.700 --> 01:25:00.660
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He does a lot of the black and white. He was there, aside from, like, you know, obviously the guys from Horrendous and everything, but it was a blast. It was a good fucking time. Yeah, the tent was really cool. Actually, it was cool outside the tent. It was nice and warm inside the tent. It looked like there was a lot of people there. There was. There was. You have to understand, like, going to Percival, Virginia, I don't know how to equate it for any of you guys, aside from

01:25:00.680 --> 01:25:03.220
It's like drive an hour out into the woods

01:25:03.940 --> 01:25:04.920
Or half an hour for me

01:25:06.040 --> 01:25:07.820
For us it was like a little over an hour

01:25:07.820 --> 01:25:09.340
For John and I it was a little over an hour

01:25:09.620 --> 01:25:11.940
And drive out into the middle of nowhere

01:25:12.040 --> 01:25:12.520
In the woods

01:25:13.600 --> 01:25:15.660
So to get that many metalheads

01:25:15.940 --> 01:25:17.580
And I recognize a ton of people out there

01:25:18.080 --> 01:25:19.500
As I'm sure you guys did

01:25:20.920 --> 01:25:21.180
Anyway

01:25:21.500 --> 01:25:22.520
It was just fun

01:25:23.080 --> 01:25:23.180
Yeah

01:25:23.980 --> 01:25:25.940
And you know there are other people we knew there

01:25:26.060 --> 01:25:27.480
We're getting the high sign from Chris

01:25:27.660 --> 01:25:28.059
So anyway

01:25:29.560 --> 01:25:57.620
I'm just experimenting. But you know, DC Metal Chris was there and Warren was there. Oh yeah, Warren was there. That's right, yeah. So, I love seeing Warren. Ariel. Yeah, it was like, if you're a diehard metal fan in the area and you like death metal or doom metal, you were there. And there was a lot of people there. It was fun. Yeah, it was good time. So, horrendous, horrendous headline and then Outer Heaven played and then Faux Hammer.

01:25:57.660 --> 01:26:27.640
And the greatest part about the night was Fauxhammer. So Fauxhammer is a two-piece Death Doom band where they have a bassist. Jay Cardinal is the bassist and Ben Price is the drummer. And they were so loud and so heavy that there's not a lot of like it's kind of like this weird industrial park in the woods. But two and a half miles away is I guess the nearest house like an actual living house. And when they started playing this the

01:26:27.660 --> 01:26:56.640
Police showed up and they said, our call center lit up like a fucking Christmas tree two and a half miles away. So when Outer Heaven played, the sound guys from Live Sound, they turned it down. And then when Outer, when Rendes played, they turned it back up. They're like, well, what are they going to do? This is like the last show of the night. So anyway, it was just, I don't know what you guys thought about Fulheimer, but it was fucking crushing.

01:26:56.740 --> 01:27:25.260
It was loud. It was funny because afterward I was talking to Mark and I was like, you know, how to go. You know, how to make out for you. And he was like, well, next time I think I'll let the police know ahead of time that we're doing this. Yeah. Yeah. It was good. It was kind of fun that half of the tented area was the dirt parking lot and the other half was paved. Yeah. So.

01:27:26.740 --> 01:27:56.320
It quickly became a mosh pit. Yeah. And there was this one guy that... Oh, the drunk guy. He may have had just one too many samples. Oh, my God. That guy? He was just basically bouncing around the brewery like a pinball. And then he got out there in horrendous. He got jacked. Knocked out hard. He didn't see... This was just that blow that somebody doesn't see coming. And he had a beer in his hand and he went down like a bag of dirt. But he had his drink up in the air.

01:27:56.380 --> 01:27:57.580
Never dropped it.

01:27:58.360 --> 01:27:58.900
No, no.

01:27:59.100 --> 01:28:00.480
He wore half of it.

01:28:00.620 --> 01:28:00.860
Well, yeah.

01:28:00.960 --> 01:28:02.220
But I mean, he didn't drop the glass.

01:28:02.700 --> 01:28:03.340
He did not.

01:28:03.700 --> 01:28:06.260
But the best part is when he went down, it kind of went in slow motion.

01:28:06.420 --> 01:28:10.040
You could just see his face just like, why is somebody hitting me?

01:28:10.200 --> 01:28:12.080
And he just hit the ground so hard.

01:28:12.460 --> 01:28:18.420
And when I showed up at 3 o'clock to help set things up, that guy was already wasted.

01:28:18.580 --> 01:28:19.560
I was my 3 o'clock.

01:28:19.700 --> 01:28:19.860
Yeah.

01:28:19.940 --> 01:28:21.120
We showed up at 5.

01:28:21.900 --> 01:28:22.420
And same thing.

01:28:22.520 --> 01:28:25.060
The first thing we saw was this guy staggering across.

01:28:25.880 --> 01:28:55.520
Five hours later, he's still staggering around. And he was still drinking. Yeah. He was holding conversations with people all over the place and they fully understood what he was saying. But like, if he looked in your direction, you would like, look away, but like, don't come talk to me. Yeah. But I think it should also be said that, you know, Outer Heaven was cool. You know, I'm not the biggest fan, but I enjoyed the show just for the fact that their singer just jumps right down on into the pit. No, they're, they're going to play Atlas again.

01:28:55.640 --> 01:29:24.560
They played Atlas twice, and they're about to play Atlas again. So this is the third time I've seen them, and he does it every time. He just jumps in. It was cool. And it's funny. People are all pushing and shoving each other except where he's standing. And then I thought Horrendous was great. They sounded way better than the other times we've seen them. Speaking of getting hit in the pit, when Horrendous came on, I went up towards the front of the pit because there was nothing going on.

01:29:24.740 --> 01:29:53.680
And I'm trying to take a couple of pictures of the band as they're playing. I'm like, got my beer in one hand and my phone in the other. And I'm holding it up and I snap a couple of pictures and I'm about ready to take another one. And all of a sudden, hit from behind. But the pit started up and I didn't see it. You know how that conversation usually goes? I got my dick in my hand and I got my phone in the other. But I didn't go down and I didn't drop my beer. Did spell it on myself, but I didn't drop it. Like my hero drunk guy.

01:29:53.980 --> 01:30:23.560
So did Horrendous convert you? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they weren't on my year-end list. I just didn't give it a lot of time because I'd get halfway through and want to listen to something else. It's just like, I don't know. I mean, I listened to it. It's not bad in any way. It's just not in your wheelhouse. It just wasn't what I wanted to hear at the time, you know? And so the day of the show, I gave the album a full listen and I was like,

01:30:23.600 --> 01:30:53.000
this is good. I don't know. I want to like it. There's nothing that I can say, well, I don't like it because of this. It just didn't grab me. But I loved their show. It was great. They are fun. What I love about horrendous is when you see them play live, they are having a blast. Yeah. With each other. Like they are a very tight knit group that they're just having fun. I love that about them. Yeah. Alex's center stage.

01:30:53.620 --> 01:30:55.980
who is the happiest guy in metal.

01:30:57.780 --> 01:31:00.120
But now he actually has some grimacing looks.

01:31:00.120 --> 01:31:04.240
I was going to say, he's turned into a little more metal, the looks,

01:31:04.640 --> 01:31:08.120
because he's also playing a lot more stuff, I think,

01:31:08.120 --> 01:31:09.760
because he was on the last recording.

01:31:10.420 --> 01:31:12.740
So he smiles, but then he gets a little more metal here and there,

01:31:12.990 --> 01:31:14.660
as opposed to something that's best.

01:31:15.200 --> 01:31:17.420
Also, his place of residence burned down this year,

01:31:17.490 --> 01:31:20.500
so that's probably going into the serious looks.

01:31:21.560 --> 01:31:21.980
It was funny.

01:31:22.540 --> 01:31:23.920
Yeah, I'm friends with him on Facebook.

01:31:24.040 --> 01:31:25.140
So I just, yeah.

01:31:25.280 --> 01:31:27.280
It was what, like 30 degrees, maybe.

01:31:27.660 --> 01:31:29.140
Well, it was probably like in the 20 degrees.

01:31:29.460 --> 01:31:30.500
Yeah, I was like 28.

01:31:31.280 --> 01:31:31.420
Yeah.

01:31:31.760 --> 01:31:33.740
And Alex came up to me at the end of the night.

01:31:33.820 --> 01:31:36.020
He's like, that's the craziest show I've ever played.

01:31:36.440 --> 01:31:38.100
I didn't feel my fingers the entire time.

01:31:40.180 --> 01:31:40.320
Yeah.

01:31:41.140 --> 01:31:41.320
Nice.

01:31:41.500 --> 01:31:41.660
Anyway.

01:31:42.160 --> 01:31:42.240
Yeah.

01:31:42.560 --> 01:31:43.420
It was a lot of fun.

01:31:43.620 --> 01:31:46.420
And thank you guys for coming out and supporting the show and everything.

01:31:46.580 --> 01:31:47.720
It was a lot of fun.

01:31:47.740 --> 01:32:17.640
Thank you for doing a great job. You and everyone in adroit. Yeah, I hope they do more shows there because it's close for me and it was a really good job. I don't think they will. That was an expensive endeavor to put on. Oh, were they launching the beer? I guess I didn't. It was their fifth anniversary show. So it's the fifth anniversary festival. So it's basically a beer fest. But they decided that and they had like all these. They had DJs. Yeah. So during the day,

01:32:18.460 --> 01:32:46.500
They had DJs. It was like Diesel Boy who's apparently a big deal. He's DC local but can play stadiums throughout the world or some weird crap. But they had all these DJs on. And then Mark wanted to do a metal show at the end. But in order to pull all this off, he has a huge tent. He brought in a stage and like professional. It's like if you went to your local big concert venue and they just have all this stuff already.

01:32:46.540 --> 01:33:16.120
But he had to rent all of it. Yeah. Yeah. So they're not it's not like Atlas. Like we we have the space and we bought the sound system. We bought the lights and we you know we make a stage out whatever we can find. But they have nothing. So they rented and brought all that stuff in. So and then only he has space for it. So they're not going to do it that often. I got a question for you real quick. Oh sorry. What's that Chris? I was just gonna say but it's close for George. So they should do it. That is the important thing here.

01:33:16.520 --> 01:33:45.440
Nothing is close for me except for Cafe Sucks 11. Here's my big question for you, Will, and I'm not in any way dragging politics onto this podcast, only that I had heard that the government shutdown was affecting breweries because of, like, you have to have your labels okayed or something like that. Would that get up your nose? Oh, yeah. Well, if you've read all the local D.C. social media news or whatever,

01:33:45.500 --> 01:34:12.340
So the owner of Atlas, Justin, who used to be a government lawyer, is suing the acting attorney general, Mark Whitaker. I guess they still are. So the TTB, the Taxes and Trade Bureau, which kind of broke off from the Treasury and all that stuff and became its own separate thing, they're the ones who have to approve every beer label and every keg collar. They approve everything.

01:34:12.760 --> 01:34:42.320
Like every new one? Or you mean like a new... Right. If you have a new beer coming out, any new beer coming out since the day your inception or whatever as a brewery, everything has to be approved. So your keg collar. So every beer that you make has to be approved through the TTB. The TTB was shut down so no one could get any new beer out. So Atlas had 20 or 40 barrels of new beer sitting in there.

01:34:42.780 --> 01:35:12.740
We already had the cans approved. We did not have the keg collar approved. So most breweries, beer goes out in kegs. So if you don't have your keg collar approved, you can't sell it. So what Atlas did is they sued the attorney general just basically saying, we're going to send this beer out because your government is shut down. Do not prosecute us. And they did it under a free speech kind of thing. And they hired a super

01:35:14.480 --> 01:35:40.840
Yeah, basically. Who has been on the side, like when Flying Dog up in Maryland sued the government to get good beer, no shit, raging bitch, beer approved. They used this guy. So he's like the beer guy. The beer lawyer. My specialty. You give me beer, I'll sue the shit out of the government for you.

01:35:44.060 --> 01:36:12.660
All right, well, that was enlightening. Yes. All right, are we ready to move on? Yeah. I know before he falls asleep here. Can I just say one last thing? That photo of Will, you with the dustpan, was fucking epic. I sat here in Minnesota. I was a thousand percent jealous. I could feel it, and I'm like, why am I so fucking jealous? And then that photo showed up, and I'm like, this is why. The first photo I took, he wasn't looking. He was just sweeping things into the dustpan. I was like,

01:36:12.780 --> 01:36:42.720
Hey, well, and he turned and I snapped it. That was awesome. There was broken glass on the stage. Somehow the fucking DJ broke glass on stage and I had to go. It's my job. I had to go clean it up. Fucking DJ. For a foe hammer. DJ cleaned that up. Yes. All right. So before we start the news, please make sure to like us on Facebook and on Twitter. Look us up on Bandcamp. You can find out all the relevant details on us at metalheadspodcast.com.

01:36:42.780 --> 01:36:45.180
on the crew page.

01:36:45.920 --> 01:36:46.940
And email us.

01:36:47.340 --> 01:36:47.440
Yeah.

01:36:47.480 --> 01:36:48.200
What is the email?

01:36:49.060 --> 01:36:51.200
George at metalheadspodcast.com.

01:36:52.080 --> 01:36:52.860
Tell us what you think.

01:36:53.060 --> 01:36:54.500
Just comments, whatever.

01:36:54.840 --> 01:36:55.840
Tell us the fuck off, whatever.

01:36:56.160 --> 01:36:58.100
If you email us, we'll read it on the air.

01:36:58.300 --> 01:36:58.500
Yeah.

01:36:59.220 --> 01:37:01.280
We may even invite you on if you're a big enough dick.

01:37:02.060 --> 01:37:02.600
Or small enough.

01:37:02.700 --> 01:37:03.840
No one ever emails us.

01:37:03.960 --> 01:37:04.120
Yeah.

01:37:04.680 --> 01:37:06.140
Tell people you want to up my word count.

01:37:06.580 --> 01:37:06.740
Whatever.

01:37:07.700 --> 01:37:09.300
We don't even email each other.

01:37:09.520 --> 01:37:10.160
That's how bad it is.

01:37:11.140 --> 01:37:11.940
That's true.

01:37:12.600 --> 01:37:41.800
Also, I think we're going to plan to try and make some more shirts before we go to Decibel. I've already got a list of people that want shirts. So if you are somebody that would be interested in a shirt, get a hold of me, georgiottmetalheadspodcast.com or anywhere else. We're only aggressively saying the word shirt several times. That was painful. The more people we get, the cheaper the shirts get. So the shirts. If you want a shirt.

01:37:42.020 --> 01:37:44.520
So let me know and we will do that

01:37:45.620 --> 01:37:46.740
They're going to be

01:37:47.320 --> 01:37:48.100
Neon pink by the way

01:37:48.680 --> 01:37:49.420
Well you know

01:37:50.600 --> 01:37:52.560
April marks the 5th anniversary of the podcast

01:37:52.820 --> 01:37:55.000
So we're going to try and put some special text

01:37:55.040 --> 01:37:55.900
On the back or something

01:37:57.660 --> 01:37:58.460
So we'll see

01:37:59.560 --> 01:38:01.380
Like now with more dick jokes

01:38:02.480 --> 01:38:04.240
5% more dick jokes

01:38:04.760 --> 01:38:06.180
I was just going to say put the word shirt

01:38:07.040 --> 01:38:07.520
Shirt

01:38:08.520 --> 01:38:09.420
Or shart

01:38:10.240 --> 01:38:10.940
You want a shart?

01:38:12.680 --> 01:38:41.620
That's an Irish shirt. It's a shart. All right, let's do the news. And now I'm not laughing. And he's not laughing. So Bruce Corbett of rigor mortis and Warbeasts. Last episode we mentioned he

01:38:41.660 --> 01:39:11.500
in hospice. Now he is dead. And I was sad to hear that, as I'm sure everybody else was as well. Yeah. So go out, listen to your rigor mortis, listen to your war beast and enjoy. Yeah. My own two senses. Rigor mortis was a very foundational metal band for me. I just I remember it was 1988 or whatever it was. Just listening to the self-titled debut album.

01:39:11.860 --> 01:39:41.620
over and over and over again. It just blew my mind because it was sort of like, here's like this thrashy, deathy band, but the lead guitarist just plays solos through all the songs. And it was amazing. It makes Gatia. Now he's back with Mike. Yeah, who's also dead, who died on stage at a rigor mortis show. Anyway, I'm an enormous, enormous rigor mortis fan. In fact, I just bought Slaves to the

01:39:41.740 --> 01:40:11.400
The Newest One on Vinyl. Nice. Yeah. What did he die of on stage? Heart attack. Yeah, just the heart attack. And Bruce Corbett died of stomach cancer, I believe. Esophageal. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Brutal. Yeah. John, you want to take this next one? Yeah. I don't know if anyone's been paying attention. There was kind of a death scare with this recently, but Lee Kerslake,

01:40:12.920 --> 01:40:41.620
formerly of Ozzy Osbourne's band going back what now almost what 40 years yeah it was on Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman who is terminally ill right now he's on tribute as well he's no I thought that was Tommy Aldridge is on tribute I thought I don't think so but anyway continue I'll look it up yeah he finally received his platinum disc from Ozzy Osbourne for the

01:40:42.040 --> 01:41:10.800
I guess the first two albums. All he had to do was get Terminally Ill. Yeah. You know, only had to wait close to 40 years. He's on two tracks on Tribute. Wait, did like Ozzy just not give it to him out of spite or some weird thing? There's been an ongoing battle, I guess, with Sharon Osbourne with him and Bob Daisley. Shocking. For years. That's when they did the whole like, they re-recorded the tracks so they could cut them out of royalties.

01:41:11.320 --> 01:41:41.180
Yeah, and they sued and they won that, but I don't think they've ever really gotten much from it. But, you know, those two guys were instrumental in those two albums along with Randy Rhoads. So. Oh, no, for sure. And he was, by the way, during your I hate for a long time. Yes, he was. He's got a resume, man. He does. And I guess what, last week or a couple days ago, people started reporting he had passed away. And then it was, you know, two seconds later, he's like, you know,

01:41:42.500 --> 01:42:11.180
He has aged though, hasn't he? He's unrecognizable. It's almost kind of Tom Petty-ish. Remember when that all happened at first? He's dead. He's not dead. No, he's dead. I'm glad to see that he's finally getting recognized, but it's almost all for naught, it seems like now at this point. Yeah, I agree. He's one of those groups of musicians that was floating around in the whole... He was never in deep

01:42:11.200 --> 01:42:41.180
with all these guys that were floating around between white snake deep purple on the house you know what i mean and lee kersley is definitely part of that crowd yeah that's how he ended up where he ended up and um and hey man you know the beginning of uh over the mountain oh yeah it's sadly yeah and sadly his picture's not in the album it's tommy aldrich you know and so and it's rudy sarzo on bass and not bob daisley so yeah which is the only time that rudy sarzo has that distinction because

01:42:41.220 --> 01:42:44.280
with Sarzo, it's his picture on the album, but he's not on the album.

01:42:44.580 --> 01:42:44.660
Right.

01:42:45.240 --> 01:42:46.800
Like Quiet Riot and there was some other stuff, too.

01:42:47.360 --> 01:42:47.460
Yeah.

01:42:48.080 --> 01:42:48.220
So.

01:42:48.900 --> 01:42:49.880
Anyway, that's a shame.

01:42:50.400 --> 01:42:54.280
I mean, OK, I'm glad he got those because those, by the way, are two of my favorite records of all time.

01:42:54.540 --> 01:42:54.840
You know.

01:42:55.320 --> 01:42:55.600
Same here.

01:42:55.740 --> 01:42:55.840
Yeah.

01:42:56.820 --> 01:43:00.280
But, you know, hopefully it's good for him.

01:43:00.580 --> 01:43:00.700
So.

01:43:01.200 --> 01:43:01.280
Yeah.

01:43:02.300 --> 01:43:03.200
And you said they won.

01:43:03.200 --> 01:43:04.940
I think you meant Bob Daisley and Lee Curtis like won.

01:43:05.260 --> 01:43:06.320
Then I don't know if I remember.

01:43:06.520 --> 01:43:08.340
They won the legal battle.

01:43:09.060 --> 01:43:38.140
Well, I mean, they got the albums were reissued back to the original. So they removed all those albums. But it didn't necessarily mean money or anything. I don't know. I think maybe it was just I didn't really pay attention to it other than the fact that they reissued or re-released the albums with them on them. Yeah. I wouldn't even get near those other ones, man. Well, and they didn't tell anyone at first that they did that.

01:43:38.180 --> 01:44:07.240
They kind of did, but it wasn't a big deal until after everybody found out about it. So. Yeah. And you can tell, by the way, you can fucking tell. Yeah, you can. So next up on our list of class acts is Bobby Liebling, who is apparently out of jail and now Pentagram is doing a 10 city tour. Don't care. Have you watched the documentary about him? Yes. Oh, yeah. We all have. Oh, yeah. That was fucked up. Right.

01:44:09.980 --> 01:44:38.140
I mean, I'm not going to lie. At the end of it, I felt super positive. Like, oh man, this dude totally turned his life around. And then, like, probably not. I saw them play not long after seeing that. And it was a good show. Sure. But... Did he beat up his mother or something? Yeah, something. That's why he was in jail. His suffering mother. Well, there's a little video clip of him in rehearsals for this tour. And the only thing I'll say that

01:44:38.160 --> 01:45:08.080
is sort of telling is that he's not like that super, super skinny Bobby Liebling. He looks like at least he might be kind of healthy, I guess. You know, that doesn't necessarily mean much. But when you do crack as much as he was doing it, you know, you don't you're a beanpole. I can't believe he's still alive, dude. He's like, he's like Ozzy. Worse, really. Is that your secret? Crack? You're skinny. You know, I used to work like a few blocks from his parents' house. Oh, is that right? Yeah, in Germantown.

01:45:09.180 --> 01:45:36.740
Did you kind of know which complex it was and everything? I have a vague idea of where it was. I mean, it was only a couple minutes from where I worked. I recognized the townhouse neighborhood. George, was there like some kind of skeevy, homeless-looking dude about two blocks down waiting on the corner all day long? You got some crack. But thank God, John, you moved. There you go. No, no, no, no, no. I'm on the Virginia side, so that's a different corner. Yeah.

01:45:37.960 --> 01:46:07.380
You know the corner, Will. It's in Southeast. This would be a good shout-out, though, to anybody who has. We've mentioned it before, but anybody who hasn't seen that documentary is so worth watching. Last Days Here. Yes. Last Days Here. It's sad and disgusting, but it's gripping. I want to interrupt real quick to include our guest in something. There he is. I'm listening. We're not doing enough dick jokes for him to chime in. But what are you drinking, Chris?

01:46:08.400 --> 01:46:37.940
I got a dogfish head 60 minute IPA. Very nice. What else we got? Matt. I've got multiple ectogasms by Drecker. Oh, I'll have what he's having. Drecker brewing. Nice, George. Yeah, you were right on the way for that. Where Harry met Sally reference. Yeah, we don't have enough of those. Johnny, I'm drinking a

01:46:37.980 --> 01:47:06.780
It's a sour called Purple Rain from Ocelot Brewing. Purple Rain. Purple Rain. You know, they did a... One time when I was there, Mike... So Mike's not... I don't think Mike's a brewer anymore, Mike McCarthy. But they did a Rain and Blood beer. And it was supposed to be a sour with strawberries or something in it. But it didn't... The strawberries, when they put it in, didn't give it enough color.

01:47:07.980 --> 01:47:37.700
So it ended up just kind of being like this pale, not purple, rain. So it's rain and yellow, basically? I guess, yeah. Is Jay wearing a Miracor hoodie? Is there a joke about me? Yes. But no, I thought at least I'll play along. I had to go get my backpack because of what I had picked up today for after the podcast. Is it a Miracor backpack?

01:47:40.180 --> 01:48:07.040
Oh, that was what it was. Yeah, I wore that because I knew you were going to be on, Chris, and I know that you got it. For what it's worth. Well, I took the bait. This is what's underneath there. Next up for it. Celtic Frost. I don't know this, but I wonder if any of you guys, I just found it today just because I'm always trying to find stuff I haven't had. Jackrabbit Imperia?

01:48:13.559 --> 01:48:34.660
I got to play a little bit. Cool. Nice. I'm drinking a Founders Breakfast stout. Nice. Nice, Georgie. In my glassware, thank you. Yeah, I got my glassware too.

01:48:37.960 --> 01:48:38.480
Another thing.

01:48:40.380 --> 01:48:41.200
Oh,

01:48:43.260 --> 01:49:10.540
Well, the Younger is out. Next week, the Younger is out. And they're putting it at more places this time. Are you going to go for it? Yeah. It's supposed to be a little bit easier to get this year. Wow. And I mean, every time I've got some buddies who work at bars and every time they'll put on Facebook and we have a keg and then literally, dude, you could get in your car and then the next post is gone. And it's gone. Yeah.

01:49:10.620 --> 01:49:39.760
If I mail you my mouth and my lips and my stomach, could you drink some of that for me? If you mail it to me, I can't. You're going to have to have a lot of trust with what I'll do with those. I will tell you this. If you mail it to him, it will probably break. I have a FedEx claim. That's right, Will. The gorillas that work for FedEx. Holy shit. I have the Adroit Theory Obulus Horrendous Beer.

01:49:40.640 --> 01:50:10.600
Pilsner. It's a pretty good beer. It's a damn good beer. It's not horrendous at all. No. So what are we like three things into this podcast? We're going for 40 minutes? Yeah. Yeah. All right. We got a couple more news items. Let's do them. Fuck these guys. The next one, something I just happened to see and I thought it was interesting. The first World Medal Congress is happening in London on March 22nd and 23rd. They're going to showcase the

01:50:10.640 --> 01:50:40.580
Global Impact of Heavy Metal Music. It sounds like a big deal. I bet it's really stupid. I bet it is, too. It's going to take place at a pub. Yeah. It'll be like, you know, a white erase-y board, you know. People will just be like, what's your favorite brand, bro? Yeah, the main event of the day will be Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. Who's better? Everyone on the panel will not listen to metal. You know, some of my least favorite stories ever are stories.

01:50:40.660 --> 01:51:10.060
that somehow have this attempt to legitimize heavy metal. Like, heavy metal apparently does have its roots in classical. Go fuck yourself. It's its own art form and it's its own. I don't need anybody to make it sound legit. Like, no joke. I can't stand that shit. And so there's some people with degrees sitting around trying to philosophize about it, you know. I looked at it. It's actually all a bunch of, like, industry insiders, which doesn't really make it any better.

01:51:11.900 --> 01:51:15.260
Because it's just going to be people sitting around talking about how cool metal is.

01:51:15.400 --> 01:51:16.680
What the fuck's the point of that?

01:51:16.940 --> 01:51:21.420
Well, I'm sure that the six most metal world metal congresses will be there to cover it.

01:51:23.260 --> 01:51:29.740
Can I just point out what Chris just said, which was it's going to be a bunch of people sitting around talking about how cool metal is and what's the point of that?

01:51:30.540 --> 01:51:32.620
They may ask you all to look at your screens right now.

01:51:34.600 --> 01:51:36.020
I'm here to talk shit about metal.

01:51:38.540 --> 01:51:39.460
You brought me back down there.

01:51:39.500 --> 01:52:08.920
To George's point, so we had this sort of like ongoing joke that whenever we were at Dustable Metal Beer Fest that the guys from the Six Most Metal Breweries, which is a videotaped live, I guess it's not live, but it's a videotaped thing, and we were always up in the foundry in the press area, and whenever we were doing interviews when we were fucking half in the bag, like just go listen back to everything, and the Six Most Metal Brewery guys were always going,

01:52:11.340 --> 01:52:36.980
And the two executive producers of Six Most Metal Breweries were at a droid the other night. And I actually walked up to him like, oh, you're the guys that tell us to shut the fuck up. I did. At one point, I was like, somebody said it to us. And I was like, are you fucking like, I mean, what is going on back here that we can't be talking? I mean, the most important thing going on. You should have told them being quiet is not fucking metal. But your hair certainly is pretty boy.

01:52:37.840 --> 01:52:44.040
We had a good laugh about it. I was direct with them. You guys always tell us to be

01:52:44.180 --> 01:52:49.840
fuck quiet. We're just the drunk Metal Pets podcast. Whatever. Oh no no. It's all

01:52:49.960 --> 01:52:50.460
poser.

01:52:53.860 --> 01:52:56.020
They may do something on

01:52:56.380 --> 01:52:58.360
Atlas which is probably the most fucking metal

01:52:58.620 --> 01:53:00.340
brewery in the United States at this point.

01:53:00.940 --> 01:53:04.220
The amount of shows that we have. By the way, Inner Arma. Are you guys fucking

01:53:04.340 --> 01:53:06.680
coming tomorrow? I just saw that the other day.

01:53:06.820 --> 01:53:35.000
I was like, are you fucking kidding me? Hey, can we FaceTime for that? I would like to, but I'm already sick. Is it like, yeah, I am a little jealous every time you do that. They're going to put you on a barrel in the back and they'll just put the phone face into stage for you so you can watch. And I'm going to have to plug in my phone from our morning FaceTiming too. So it's going to be a busy day for my iPhone.

01:53:36.800 --> 01:54:06.780
I remember Chris was a big fan of that last record. I remember that well. He texted us or something and we were talking about it. And I loved it. I thought that last one was great. Curious to see what's going on with the new one. What are you saying, Chris? Paradise Gallows, right? Hmm? Isn't that what it was called? Paradise Gallows? Yes. Paradise Gallows. Yeah. If I remember right, you texted the group and said, this one's fun for the whole family. Something along those lines and you were right. It's actually the thing that got me to try it out and I was like, holy fuck. The opening riff on that album is like...

01:54:07.920 --> 01:54:36.340
And I put it on. I just love watching my kids' reaction when I turn up really loud. And they're like, whoa! And they're like, what was that? It's a keeper. So is this anticipation? I know they've got a new one coming out. I mean, I guess, do they live around there? They're in Richmond. Richmond, Virginia. Richmond, motherfucking Virginia. Everybody's from Richmond, it seems like. RVA? Yeah, RVA, that's right. Anyway, they're playing Atlas.

01:54:36.820 --> 01:55:06.740
tomorrow night. And none of you fuckers will be there because you suck. If I lived there, I'd come well. Thank you. Where are you going to come? Likewise. Man, I got the podcast tonight and the Super Bowl on Sunday. I got to be home one night. You're going out? You're going to out to the Super Bowl? I'm going to go watch with my dad. Okay. All right. So John Zazula of Megaforce Records is going to release a memoir supposedly in October. Of course,

01:55:06.820 --> 01:55:36.780
Can we all go around and say how we pronounce that? Because I don't know how to do it. I say Zazula. I don't have any idea. I think it's Vuvuzela or whatever. What are those things? I say Zazula. The Vuvuzela. I say Carcass. I digress. I cut you off, sir. I think you were going to say a bit more about that. No, not really. Well, I mean, it should be interesting. I mean, he's kind of, my understanding, he's maybe

01:55:36.820 --> 01:55:37.400
be a little shady

01:55:39.060 --> 01:55:40.440
in some of his dealings.

01:55:40.980 --> 01:55:42.580
And his daughter fucking totally

01:55:42.800 --> 01:55:43.480
dissed me when

01:55:44.340 --> 01:55:46.060
I was trying to get an interview with Testament.

01:55:46.240 --> 01:55:48.600
She was basically like, yeah, you're not important

01:55:48.800 --> 01:55:49.780
enough to interview Testament.

01:55:50.120 --> 01:55:50.260
Really?

01:55:50.620 --> 01:55:51.020
Not cool.

01:55:51.140 --> 01:55:51.480
Yeah, totally.

01:55:51.700 --> 01:55:51.980
Not cool.

01:55:52.240 --> 01:55:53.140
That's bullshit, dude.

01:55:53.340 --> 01:55:54.440
So basically she's a good...

01:55:55.020 --> 01:55:56.220
She knows what she's up.

01:55:56.380 --> 01:55:57.400
Yeah, she knows what she's doing.

01:55:57.580 --> 01:55:58.680
She knows what she's...

01:55:59.180 --> 01:56:00.560
Is her last name Zula too?

01:56:00.640 --> 01:56:00.780
Yeah.

01:56:01.940 --> 01:56:02.980
There's no Dina.

01:56:03.320 --> 01:56:03.980
Only Zula.

01:56:04.500 --> 01:56:06.780
I ran into him at...

01:56:08.080 --> 01:56:36.500
What show was it? Some Bay Area show, and it was a Bay Area band. It wasn't Exodus, but somebody like that. Anyway, it was the same show Sam Dunn was at. I don't know why the fucker boy was at that show. But anyway, and John Zuzula was there. He seemed really nice. He seemed like a really nice guy, and his wife was there too. I mean, I'll give her credit. She was nice enough to be honest with me. Some people would just be like, ah, yeah, no, we can't do that. Yeah, but you know what? My answer to that would have been, how important do you think Testament is?

01:56:36.580 --> 01:56:36.780
Yeah.

01:56:37.800 --> 01:56:38.400
Because I mean,

01:56:38.460 --> 01:56:39.620
no offense to them,

01:56:39.630 --> 01:56:42.500
but in a world full of bands and a world full of even more metal bands,

01:56:42.680 --> 01:56:44.540
Testament's not exactly at the top of the fucking heap,

01:56:44.710 --> 01:56:44.860
you know?

01:56:45.130 --> 01:56:45.220
Yeah.

01:56:45.380 --> 01:56:46.780
Read the lyrics from the last album.

01:56:46.980 --> 01:56:49.300
And this wasn't like a come on the podcast thing.

01:56:49.300 --> 01:56:49.860
This was a,

01:56:49.940 --> 01:56:50.020
Hey,

01:56:50.050 --> 01:56:51.240
can we talk to them at a show?

01:56:52.380 --> 01:56:54.600
Like they had like more important people to talk to or something.

01:56:54.940 --> 01:56:55.140
Were they,

01:56:55.300 --> 01:56:56.300
were they,

01:56:56.780 --> 01:56:57.740
where was this George,

01:56:57.920 --> 01:56:58.460
when this happened?

01:56:58.900 --> 01:56:59.160
Um,

01:57:00.360 --> 01:57:01.100
it was probably Fillmore.

01:57:02.790 --> 01:57:03.600
I think that's probably the one.

01:57:03.720 --> 01:57:32.980
No, I mean here. Oh, so they weren't playing RFK or where the Redskins play. They were just playing the film. Silver Spring, yeah. Yeah, okay. Can we just immortalize the funniest thing that Matt has ever said, please? Have you read those lyrics? They are pretty bad. Best comment he's ever had, ever. I speak the truth when I speak. Yes. If I do. His words are few, but they have deep meaning. That's right. Cut straight to the bone.

01:57:33.740 --> 01:58:03.620
Now I'm really hoping she contacts you, George, to do an interview with Testament. So you could say, I don't know. They're not quite big enough for the metal podcast. So I opened up my latest issue of Decibel Magazine the other day. And the first thing you see when you open it up on the inside cover is an ad for liquid death water from the Austrian Alps. It's got this like totally metal artwork and stuff. And it's just fucking water.

01:58:03.720 --> 01:58:24.820
It's not alcoholic. It's not mineral water or energy drink. It's just freaking water. But it's the most metal-looking water you've ever seen. So you pre-ordered it? No, but I just might have to get some. Did you get the orange and green variants of the water? Okay, so this is the description for Liquid Death on Amazon.

01:58:33.720 --> 01:58:39.180
and strangle it. Once liquid death reaches your thirst's brain, all of your thirst's

01:58:39.340 --> 01:58:45.280
memories will be replaced with repeating loops of its own head imploding. Which is exactly what happens next,

01:58:45.640 --> 01:58:49.040
by it causing your thirst's head to implode and its brain to squirt out of its ears.

01:58:49.940 --> 01:58:55.460
Once your thirst has been murdered, the soul of your thirst will begin to escape and float towards the ceiling.

01:58:56.120 --> 01:59:01.320
At this point, drink a second sip of liquid death to rip its soul back down and force it to begin

01:59:01.340 --> 01:59:31.200
Gluing its own body parts back together so that it can crawl back inside you and eventually grow into a fully formed thirst once again. Hi, I'm gonna drink that water. Yeah, murder your thirst. Isn't that like the most amazing? Isn't that the most metal description for water you've ever heard? I'm gonna go ahead and say you don't have to go all that trouble. Just go to DC and drink some of their water. Liquid death. Yeah, you got liquid death right there. Anyway, I thought that was cool. They have t-shirts.

01:59:31.400 --> 02:00:01.300
I might order one liquid. It says liquid death spring water on it. It's got the skull. Murder your thirst on the back, hopefully. Yeah. It's sort of like the pet rock. Like, I mean, there's like no real purpose to this, but I'm going to order one. Yep. It's just metal. All right, let's move on to new releases. First one is the new Alterage. Okay. How do you say this one? I say it's either Alterage or

02:00:01.340 --> 02:00:31.000
Or Alterrage? I say Zula. That's a problem. I say Carcass, yes. But the album is called The Approaching Roar. It's the third album. They're a Spanish black death band. And I don't know, I kind of like it. Anyone else? I was a huge fan of the last release. And I would say I am equally a big fan of this one. Chris, didn't you like this one? Yeah, it's cool. It kind of reminds me of Portal.

02:00:31.620 --> 02:01:01.260
Like Portal, but it doesn't scare me as much. Yeah, but I think there are better musicians than Portal. It's not as sloppy. Yeah, I think the production's a little nicer. Yeah, but it got kind of old after a few tracks, but it's pretty brutal. Indeed it is. Next, we have the new Carnal Forge album, Gun to Mouth Salvation. It's the seventh album from a Swedish death thrash band.

02:01:01.340 --> 02:01:30.240
And I didn't look to see when their last album was, but I believe it was like 12 years ago. So this is kind of a new thing for them. And I dug it. Did anybody else check that out? No, but I'm kind of listening to samples right now as we speak. Man, nobody's doing their homework. I see how it is. All right. What about this next one? Insight. It's not that we're not doing our homework. You don't give a shit. Some of our homework, we don't give a shit about. Exactly. I'm never going to use this.

02:01:30.660 --> 02:01:59.860
My dog ate it. Exactly. Yeah. Insight. Built to Destroy. Arizona Thrash Band. Their fifth album. I'm not saying this is like, you know, album of the year or anything, but it was fun. Yeah. Sounds like metal. Yeah. Moving on. King Diamond. Songs for the Dead. Live at Grass Pop Metal Meeting. I know Jay likes this one. Yeah, I've already said too much about it, but it's also, it's actually two shows.

02:02:00.660 --> 02:02:30.380
It's the Grass Pop Show and the Fillmore Show in Philly. Actually, in Philly, I think. And it's also coming out on DVD, which I need to get. But King sounds great, man. He sounds great. Great, great. I'm holding out hope for that new album. Although when we were at the show last week, Albert was like, nah, that ain't happening. You think it'd be good or anything? He said it's not coming out this year. I guess I don't think it is either, to be perfectly blunt, though. Yeah, I don't think it is either.

02:02:30.640 --> 02:02:55.920
But if it's as good as, if it's at least in the ballpark of Puppet, the Puppet Master, then I'll be fine with it. Cool. Yeah. Also another reason to go to Grass Pop sometime. Yeah. Buggerless. Then the next one that I had no idea was coming out, but there it was, the Panopticon EP, The Crescendo of Dusk.

02:03:00.640 --> 02:03:01.360
Fampare is

02:03:30.640 --> 02:03:59.560
and some artwork that he did sometime back. And it's eerily similar. It is, man. I went to one of these, like, you know, painting and drinking wine classes. And it was like an Aurora Borealis thing. Yeah, totally. And it was with my mom even. It was like for her birthday. And it was like, it was like dusk. And so there's like all these like pine trees and silhouette on the ground.

02:03:59.660 --> 02:04:28.520
And then, like, cloudy sky and aurora borealis done badly by me. And it's the same goddamn thing, just different colors. Very, very close. So either he's been in my house, this artist, and saw this, or he took the same painting class and did it much better. One in canvas. So anyway, the first track was like, you know, typical Panopticon kind of black metal stuff. And then the second track was much more,

02:04:29.660 --> 02:04:59.180
Like the second half of the last album. Very... Folksy, woodsy, maricana. Yeah, maricana. Roots music, I think you might say. Maricana. Maricana. Maricana. Popped for M. Freedom costs a buck in a quarter. Next we have the new Soul Mass album, The Weakness of Virtue, which some people might think of as the album of the month for January. It's their second album, Florida Death, Doom, or Doom,

02:04:59.680 --> 02:05:29.520
Death, depending on who you ask. Or Death, Doom, Death. Actually, I think it's their third album. Really? Well, the first one, they had a different name, but I think they consider it part of the catalog. But it's the second one under the name Soulmass. Okay, see, I just looked at Metal Archives and I just saw the two. So, I stand corrected. That's cool, though. Yeah, you guys, somebody, I know it was an album of the month for you guys, but you must have been talking about it on one of the threads, and so I put it on. Actually,

02:05:29.660 --> 02:05:56.020
I've listened to it a couple times in the last couple days. It's good. Yeah, it is. Hard to argue with it. Yeah. I like it a lot. Is it based on a video game or something? Or the mythology of a video game or something like that? I thought I read that somewhere. That sounds familiar. Interesting. Yeah, and it's the last one they're going to do. And they're going to do something different, I guess, for their content next time. Okay. I thought it was good. I liked it too. Yeah.

02:05:59.680 --> 02:06:28.660
our last episode, but we hadn't heard it yet. We only don't hear like two songs. This is the new Swallow the Sun album, When a Shadow is Forced Into the Light. The album is out now, and we can speak to it a little more. At least I can. I listened to it the other day while walking around the neighborhood in the cold and the snow. And the first couple of tracks, I was like, eh, it's all right. I don't think it's as good as the last album. It's very...

02:06:29.560 --> 02:06:56.320
It's going to be hard to even come close to the last album for you. Well, yeah, but was it not as good because it was only one hour and a half long or something? Anything less than three hours isn't worth my time. I'll be honest. I think it's only like 52 or 53 minutes. So it's basically an EP for them. Yeah, but it's interesting.

02:06:58.660 --> 02:07:28.300
because there's a very mellow aspect to it. And to me, it was very Pink Floyd-y in a later-era Tiamat sort of way. Yeah, it's definitely got a gothic vibe to it, a gothic ethereal feel to it. But they do it much better than Tiamat. But what eventually grabbed me about it was the transition from this Pink Floyd-y and mellow stuff into the harsher vocals.

02:07:28.420 --> 02:07:30.800
It was like when that would kick in I was just like boom

02:07:31.580 --> 02:07:32.940
I was like that is fucking cool

02:07:33.740 --> 02:07:35.620
And to kind of drive home

02:07:36.360 --> 02:07:37.700
I've listened to it a couple of times

02:07:38.040 --> 02:07:39.620
And to drive home the Pink Floyd-y stuff

02:07:39.820 --> 02:07:41.700
It's sort of us and them-y

02:07:41.840 --> 02:07:42.400
You know what I mean?

02:07:42.620 --> 02:07:45.200
Like it's like right in that zone

02:07:47.480 --> 02:07:48.700
Off of Dark Side of the Moon

02:07:48.800 --> 02:07:49.920
Which everybody must know

02:07:50.160 --> 02:07:50.580
But still

02:07:50.840 --> 02:07:51.460
What was it called again?

02:07:52.580 --> 02:07:53.160
Us and Them

02:07:53.340 --> 02:07:53.720
No, no

02:07:54.180 --> 02:07:54.780
That album?

02:07:54.980 --> 02:07:55.360
What was that?

02:07:59.560 --> 02:08:24.460
I know you guys know it, but I don't know if that was a good reference for the people out in the wide world these days. I will say that I listened, I liked it, but I think everything you guys have issue with are due to the lack of the intense keyboardist. That's right, that's the guy. That's what's missing. You can feel it. It shows. Yeah, I forgot about that. Okay, now Chris, go ahead and piss all over what I just said.

02:08:25.400 --> 02:08:55.360
I wasn't listening but what is the what is this new Metallica live thing that just came out why isn't anybody making fun of that hands across America or something like that wait Chris do they really have a new live thing yeah it's like a live acoustic uh like benefit helping hands well make a gay joke live and acoustic at the masonic oh helping hands is their local charity they give money to um

02:08:55.380 --> 02:09:25.360
I think music schools and stuff like that I can't pull it off so helping hands is the name of the chair and this is not this is not me explaining them believe me you but so that's like the name of the charity I will say this I there's no love lost between me and that group of musicians these days that stated there's a really cool version of uh uh what is it disposable heroes that they do on that it's really fucking cool actually I highly suggest you watch it on YouTube dude they totally change it and they give this

02:09:25.400 --> 02:09:27.120
It's like driving Indian beat and it is

02:09:27.540 --> 02:09:29.360
pretty fucking rad. Hey Jay, is this

02:09:29.540 --> 02:09:31.420
kind of their version of the bridge

02:09:31.580 --> 02:09:33.340
concert? Which is no

02:09:33.460 --> 02:09:34.920
longer happening by the way. Right.

02:09:35.400 --> 02:09:37.400
For those of the bridge concert was a benefit

02:09:37.620 --> 02:09:39.120
was it Neil Young and who else was it that

02:09:39.500 --> 02:09:41.360
started that? I can't remember. But it's

02:09:41.460 --> 02:09:43.400
held in the Bay Area or used

02:09:43.400 --> 02:09:45.380
to be. Yeah

02:09:45.640 --> 02:09:47.500
because it was for they benefited

02:09:47.660 --> 02:09:49.340
whatever disease Neil Young's kid

02:09:49.440 --> 02:09:51.440
has. Yeah and it was for some school and

02:09:52.140 --> 02:09:52.780
it just

02:09:53.280 --> 02:09:55.360
I thought of that when I heard about the album that they were

02:09:56.040 --> 02:10:24.860
They do a lot of that out in the Bay Area. Has Metallica thought about doing a benefit to buy riffs? Burn! I mean, have they thought about renaming disposable heroes to recyclable heroes? You know what? Let's get with the times. I hear you, yeah. Stars in the ocean, I'm feeling you. Could someone give them some distortion pedals? Could someone give them some fucking booze?

02:10:25.380 --> 02:10:55.280
Yeah, we're about to get them. Nothing like shitting on a charity, I will. Fuck them kids. You know what? Play the behemoth kids. Yeah, we do need that for him. You might want to be careful doing that live on the radio or in a podcast. I would rather just Metallica just give all the money that they have to kids.

02:10:55.640 --> 02:10:58.240
and just go back to writing good music.

02:10:59.300 --> 02:11:09.560
So, okay, you sound like a Tool fan right now that's dedicated to that new album coming out that they've been waiting for for the last 18 years. When is the last time Metallica put a good album in your mind?

02:11:10.820 --> 02:11:11.120
1986?

02:11:12.000 --> 02:11:13.100
It's funny. It's funny.

02:11:13.790 --> 02:11:14.580
Keep waiting, Will.

02:11:15.540 --> 02:11:15.740
88?

02:11:15.770 --> 02:11:24.180
It's funny. I wish my kids were awake right now and they were in this room because I don't know what station we were on.

02:11:24.360 --> 02:11:51.760
We left to go to Dave & Buster's in the car and one was on. The last half of one was on satellite radio, whatever channel it was on. And I always play this game with my kids in the car. Like, hey, what album is this? Or what artist or musician is this? Who's singing? Blah, blah, blah. Listen to it. Don't just guess. Listen to it and this and that. And so my kids absolutely know that Metallica only put out four good albums.

02:11:53.820 --> 02:12:23.600
They absolutely know that. And they know that Injustice for All was the last one. Yeah. So lucky for them. They don't know it was 1988. Lucky for them, they won't be pining 31 years later. Speaking of kids, I just have to brag because my little sister just had a baby a couple days ago. The first of the me and the siblings to procreate. Oh, congratulations. Wait, wait, wait. I thought you were.

02:12:23.640 --> 02:12:53.560
uncle before. That's Barb's side. Oh, okay. This is from my blood. And, uh, it was born in, born in Norway and named Ragnar. Oh, dude. That's pretty brutal. Oh, that's awesome. So, so the homeless guy that was like peering over and about to sacrifice your nephew, that was the father? Yes. Oh, okay. Well, there we go. You're just batting a thousand.

02:12:53.940 --> 02:13:22.960
today. That's my brother-in-law. Oh, wow. Ragnar, have you seen the Netflix show? Ragnar Lothbrok. Vikings. Ragnar Uthrar. What's the name of the show? Vikings. No, it's not Vikings. There's another show. Is it a show or a movie? It's a show. It's a series that's in the third season. It's about Vikings.

02:13:23.640 --> 02:13:52.880
in England. Anyway, I forget what the name is. There's a guy named Ragnar. You sure it's not Vikings? It's not Vikings. It's not. I'll think of it. Yeah, because Vikings is a... Something Kingdom. Something Kingdom. Oh, I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah, yeah. It's actually really good. I like it. Yeah, so cool Vikings are always named Ragnar. This is the takeaway here. Yeah, sure. As I was saying, you can just refer to me now as Ragnar's uncle. That's way cooler than George.

02:13:54.120 --> 02:14:20.040
Could you get Norwegian citizenship through that side of your family? I don't know. Because if so, what the fuck are you doing with yourself? Are they born with torches and maps to churches in their hands? What happens when you're born in Norway? In Norway, they use midwives. Not that that's medieval, but it's the standard there as opposed to alternative here. Everything's better there.

02:14:23.640 --> 02:14:33.780
I mean midwives are hot too right I mean yeah right is that what we're going with here no idea all right well why don't we move on to our top five

02:14:59.060 --> 02:15:23.440
So this time, being that it is a new year, it is 2019, we're going to do our top albums of 1999, which we'll be celebrating 20 years this year. Before we start, can I use the restroom real quick? No. Excuse me, can I use the restroom? No. What is the dirty rotten scandals thing? Can I go to the bathroom?

02:15:24.180 --> 02:15:24.860
Thank you.

02:15:25.020 --> 02:15:25.440
Sure.

02:15:25.960 --> 02:15:27.240
May I go to the bathroom, please?

02:15:27.920 --> 02:15:28.020
Sure.

02:15:28.720 --> 02:15:30.240
I don't know if you bring the webcam with you.

02:15:31.320 --> 02:15:31.820
All right.

02:15:31.880 --> 02:15:32.820
I'm taking you along.

02:15:33.020 --> 02:15:33.380
I'll be right back.

02:15:33.540 --> 02:15:34.140
Thank you.

02:15:34.440 --> 02:15:38.800
Let us see what other bathroom talk transpires here on Metalhead's podcast.

02:15:40.060 --> 02:15:40.840
Let's light this candle.

02:15:41.240 --> 02:15:43.280
Yeah, that's because you just made a dude, right?

02:15:43.450 --> 02:15:47.740
You should watch what you say because we were just talking about wiping semen off our mouths and you're like, I can't wait.

02:15:49.600 --> 02:15:49.960
Yeah.

02:15:50.920 --> 02:15:52.920
Walking into these conversations a little slower.

02:15:53.600 --> 02:15:54.900
Just don't back into them

02:15:59.080 --> 02:16:00.000
Where's my

02:16:02.820 --> 02:16:03.980
Jesus that's loud

02:16:06.800 --> 02:16:08.680
When you hear the big spoon it's loud

02:16:09.640 --> 02:16:12.580
So we're gonna start this off with Chris

02:16:12.760 --> 02:16:13.900
With your number 5

02:16:15.700 --> 02:16:16.780
Okay are we doing

02:16:17.340 --> 02:16:18.720
Honorable mentions after

02:16:19.020 --> 02:16:19.420
At all

02:16:22.380 --> 02:16:23.020
After

02:16:23.040 --> 02:16:51.160
is the on your escape plan calculating infinity. Seriously? Wow. That is probably the last thing I thought you would say. Yeah, me too. Hey, man, I have diverse tastes. I don't know why you guys pigeonhole me. It's legit. I don't know why you guys cornhole me. I like cornhole me. Remember that time at Valken? It's the hairiest. You're a hairiest little boy. I do like that all of their reactions were basically like, you know, you just said that out loud, right?

02:16:53.019 --> 02:16:58.599
The Freudian slip there. Do you guys disagree that that's one of the most

02:16:59.420 --> 02:17:02.360
white fucking records of all time? I hate them.

02:17:03.700 --> 02:17:06.960
I mean, I do too at this point, but at that time, that was a monumental

02:17:08.460 --> 02:17:09.179
development in metal.

02:17:09.320 --> 02:17:11.840
There's going to be Rage Against Machine on my list.

02:17:12.960 --> 02:17:14.360
A whole bunch of embarrassing things.

02:17:16.300 --> 02:17:17.940
Okay, well, I guess I'm a poser.

02:17:18.420 --> 02:17:18.599
Nah.

02:17:19.990 --> 02:17:20.740
No, actually, you're not a poser.

02:17:20.740 --> 02:17:22.599
You're just some metal you circle back around again.

02:17:25.000 --> 02:17:26.000
All right, Matt.

02:17:27.530 --> 02:17:29.599
My number five is Neurosis Times of Grace.

02:17:30.139 --> 02:17:30.460
Nice.

02:17:31.120 --> 02:17:31.300
Nice.

02:17:32.360 --> 02:17:32.880
Good work.

02:17:34.480 --> 02:17:34.780
Johnny.

02:17:35.700 --> 02:17:39.219
My number five, My Dying Bride, the Light at the End of the World.

02:17:40.260 --> 02:17:40.500
Mm-hmm.

02:17:41.530 --> 02:17:41.620
Yep.

02:17:42.960 --> 02:17:43.179
Well.

02:17:44.099 --> 02:17:44.639
Oh, boy.

02:17:45.000 --> 02:17:46.780
It's getting more exciting with each pack.

02:17:46.920 --> 02:17:48.440
It is where I was just like, okay, sure.

02:17:48.620 --> 02:17:48.780
Why not?

02:17:49.320 --> 02:17:52.700
I have to say, like, I had to struggle to come up with five in 1908.

02:17:53.219 --> 02:18:14.980
It was a shit year for metal. Nah, man. Oh my god. It was a huge year for my metal, but I'm a poser. Dude, yeah, that was totally that Litten Biscuit album came out that year. Did one really come out? Yeah, Significant Other. I believe that was the second album. Their Magnus Opus, as I call it. Their Significant Album.

02:18:22.719 --> 02:18:52.679
Number five is Cannibal Corpse Bloodthirst. Yeah, it's not one of their best. But you had to put it on. For 1999, that was a really good fucking album. Jay. Mine is Immortal at the Heart of Winter. Yeah. That should have been on there somewhere. Anyway, my number five, Agaloc Pale Folklore. Nice. Can I just interrupt and say that I will bet... Don't do it. I will bet money that no one

02:18:52.740 --> 02:19:22.660
will have any of my albums on their list. Okay. Yeah. I'll bet that too. We'll see. You think you're the only one, Will? No, I have one that you have, John. John, that's you every time. I know John's number one, but we're not going to say that. Will thinks he's special because for once, one of his albums is on somebody else's list. Welcome to John's world. Welcome to my world. Well played. All right, Chris.

02:19:22.719 --> 02:19:23.280
Number four.

02:19:23.660 --> 02:19:25.760
Woohoo for Will.

02:19:27.820 --> 02:19:30.300
My number four is Neurosis Times of Grace.

02:19:31.360 --> 02:19:32.880
I heard that somewhere recently.

02:19:35.900 --> 02:19:36.460
Great minds.

02:19:36.740 --> 02:19:37.160
Great minds.

02:19:38.000 --> 02:19:38.179
Etc.

02:19:38.960 --> 02:19:39.519
Minds.

02:19:40.360 --> 02:19:40.980
Beautiful minds.

02:19:43.180 --> 02:19:43.740
Yeah.

02:19:44.719 --> 02:19:47.400
For typo negative world coming dune.

02:19:48.180 --> 02:19:49.120
That's a good one.

02:19:49.400 --> 02:19:49.520
Yes.

02:19:49.640 --> 02:19:50.000
That's a good one.

02:19:51.640 --> 02:19:52.020
A favorite.

02:19:52.620 --> 02:19:53.720
I think no one ever

02:19:55.699 --> 02:19:56.140
hey

02:19:58.160 --> 02:20:00.420
it's like the most lackluster top five ever

02:20:00.420 --> 02:20:01.160
it really kind of is

02:20:01.160 --> 02:20:02.840
what if my name was no one ever

02:20:05.060 --> 02:20:07.120
it was a terrible year

02:20:07.610 --> 02:20:08.720
I get it's 20 anniversary

02:20:09.080 --> 02:20:11.360
but man no one's getting excited about any of these albums

02:20:11.800 --> 02:20:13.440
we were too busy partying like it's 1999

02:20:14.399 --> 02:20:15.160
oh yeah

02:20:15.780 --> 02:20:16.280
purple rain

02:20:17.640 --> 02:20:18.840
no I know it's not purple rain

02:20:19.100 --> 02:20:20.420
I know that that's a different album

02:20:20.620 --> 02:20:22.060
but John was drinking it so I had to say it

02:20:23.580 --> 02:20:52.040
I think Jay might appreciate this one my number four nevermore dream neon black I do appreciate that one I appreciate you my number four monstrosity in dark purity yep not on my list not on my list my number four nevermore dreaming neon black yeah well my number four neurosis times of grace

02:20:52.060 --> 02:20:52.680
Shit.

02:20:54.020 --> 02:20:57.340
Album is winning the podcast top five from 1999.

02:20:58.190 --> 02:20:58.360
Yeah.

02:20:58.980 --> 02:20:59.580
Congratulations.

02:21:02.180 --> 02:21:02.860
Back to Chris.

02:21:03.200 --> 02:21:03.480
Number three.

02:21:05.440 --> 02:21:07.280
Number three is Naglfar.

02:21:08.260 --> 02:21:09.680
It's a German black metal band.

02:21:09.940 --> 02:21:10.620
Would you call me?

02:21:13.240 --> 02:21:14.520
I'm not going to pronounce this right.

02:21:14.900 --> 02:21:15.660
Strongorth.

02:21:16.320 --> 02:21:17.920
It's their second record.

02:21:20.220 --> 02:21:21.180
Foundational for me.

02:21:22.140 --> 02:21:46.880
Crickets. I like them. I like them. No. Wow, that was a good cricket. Thank you. Thank you. I have a deviated septum, so it's very easy. Well done, sir. I like dicks. Penis. Penis.

02:21:51.240 --> 02:22:21.120
Okay, then. Number three. Number three. Mortal. The heart of winter. Excellent choice. Right in the middle of it. I'm going to make Will feel really good about himself because I'm going to have something here that nobody's got on their list. Derek Shrine and Planet X. There you go, Will. Happy? Happy now, Will. Sorry, I'm still laughing about the deviated septum thing. It was good.

02:22:23.020 --> 02:22:51.220
Yeah, I'd love to say the well. He's like, you're suffering. I have to say this quick and mute my mic because it's still laughing. Sick of it all. Call it to arms. Definitely not on my list. Not mine either. Because it's not metal. So there you go. Thank you. My number three, Emperor Equilibrium. Or nine, Equilibrium. I actually...

02:22:51.260 --> 02:23:19.240
Yeah. Equilibrium 9. Number 9. My number 3, Satyricon Rebel Extravaganza. Considered it. Considered it. I know. Yeah. Considered it. That's for you, Chris. Thanks. And what's your number 2? Diedumsguard 666 International. Oh shit, that was that year? Yeah. Oops. I missed that one.

02:23:21.260 --> 02:23:51.160
Dude, even I knew Don Himesguard put out an album that year. It was not on the list I looked at. Damn you, Wikipedia. And it's not on Will's list either. It's not on Will's list. That's right, it is not on my list. That would have made my list. Had I realized. Alright, Matt. Number two, Cannibal Corpse, Bloodthirst. And Will is celebrating quietly. Yeah. Oh, wait. Somebody had one.

02:23:51.260 --> 02:24:20.440
Wills. Yeah. It's on their list. Oh, you fail. Oh, damn it. Sorry, man. Sorry. I tried to be all death metal-y. Matt, is there something else you could put on your list real quick? Stop relating to Wills. I thought Peter had an out-mout that year. It was a time-hive. It was an out-mout that no one knew about. Well, almost no one. Except for the most metal one. Yeah. All right, John. All right, my number two.

02:24:21.280 --> 02:24:23.020
Dream Theater Metropolis Part 2.

02:24:25.239 --> 02:24:28.020
That James LaBrie just gets weirder and weirder looking, man.

02:24:28.180 --> 02:24:30.500
Did you put that as number two because it had number two in it?

02:24:31.200 --> 02:24:31.520
No.

02:24:32.600 --> 02:24:33.560
Number two, Part 2.

02:24:34.260 --> 02:24:36.820
Yeah, Jay, you couldn't have said it any better.

02:24:37.280 --> 02:24:38.380
It's getting really strange.

02:24:38.740 --> 02:24:40.400
He's such an odd looking dude.

02:24:40.920 --> 02:24:41.040
No.

02:24:41.760 --> 02:24:46.220
I mean, everyone else looks younger as they turn 50, and he's not looking younger.

02:24:46.460 --> 02:24:48.220
He looks more and more like a lion or something.

02:24:48.420 --> 02:24:50.220
I mean, he's an odd looking dude.

02:24:50.960 --> 02:24:51.040
Yeah.

02:24:52.020 --> 02:25:20.300
Willem. This is the only one I think could possibly be on someone else's list. Other than Cannibal Corpse. Other than Cannibal Corpse is Testament of the Gathering. Doesn't sound like it. I forgot about that too. George, were you looking at 1999 or 1949? Yeah, let's just say I was doing this quickly because it was a busy week. Well, speaking of this anniversary,

02:25:21.120 --> 02:25:49.360
You know it was 50 year anniversary of the man landing on the moon. It's a pretty cool anniversary, man. Yeah, 1969. I'd like to really recommend this movie called First Man where Ryan Gosling plays Neil Armstrong going to the moon. That was good. They may see this. We haven't watched it yet, but it's in the queue. Dude, I felt like it's the first space movie I've seen where you realized how absolutely white knuckle experience it was to be in one of those rockets going up. Yeah.

02:25:51.140 --> 02:26:19.520
Studebakers from the inside. If they got it right. It's like everybody they knew died. Yeah. They really captured that. Yeah. My number two is Typo Negative. World Coming Down. Oh, I love that record. We miss you, Pete. We miss you. My number two. Opeth. Still Life. Ooh. John smiles and nods.

02:26:21.140 --> 02:26:51.080
All right, Chris. Number one satirical honorable extravaganza. I knew that was coming. Of course. Come on now. Of course. That's how the inspector says it on Young Frankenstein. Of course. I love that movie. It's so funny, dude. This is a different matter altogether. Of course. Matt. My number one controller.

02:26:51.240 --> 02:27:15.180
Denied the Fragile Art of Existence. Wow. Nice. I picked that up on vinyl not too long ago and like nobody cared. Yeah, no, I didn't care. You were all like, yeah, we don't care. That's where I got off the fence with that. Well, I don't know, George, you bought what, how many albums I'm being in camp? I guess I have to pick and choose which ones I'm really going to get excited about, which ones I just have to set aside.

02:27:21.140 --> 02:27:23.500
All right, uh, uh,

02:27:23.500 --> 02:27:26.240
John, let me guess what your number one might be.

02:27:27.260 --> 02:27:28.720
Yeah, this should come as no surprise.

02:27:30.180 --> 02:27:31.100
Oh, but still life.

02:27:38.020 --> 02:27:38.960
I wasn't finished.

02:27:39.420 --> 02:27:39.520
Oh,

02:27:43.400 --> 02:27:43.500
okay.

02:27:44.600 --> 02:27:45.280
You went there with it.

02:27:46.280 --> 02:27:48.700
It's not as much fun when I'm not actually in the same room with John.

02:27:49.360 --> 02:27:50.240
Jerking the penis.

02:27:52.319 --> 02:28:20.080
There's literally nothing you could say that would distract me from just the massiveness of this thing just crushing your throat right now, Will. Are you talking about the album or your penis? Penis. Come on. You know it's the album I'm talking about. Penis. Well, yeah. But if you're going to gag on air. I just want to make sure you're not lying to the audience that you have some massive penis. I've been lying to myself for 50 years. Absolutely.

02:28:20.340 --> 02:28:50.300
Holds my attention. Number one, Immolation, Failures for Gods. I guess that. Very nice. I didn't have that one either. Yeah, I know. I went out of my way not to have that one. I was, I really do think this is the best. I'm doing nobody any favors here, but I love this record, and this was right at the era that I loved the most, Opeth Stillman. Wow. Oh, I loved Opeth. That is

02:28:51.080 --> 02:29:19.840
That's definitely my favorite Op-ed album. I like Blackwater Park a little bit better, but it's... No, Jay, no. No. No. You know what? I'm going to rethink that. I'm glad I convinced you. But it is great, man. There's so much good stuff on there. Jay, we'll give you to when we do the top five from 2001 for you to make up your mind. Okay. Cool. Nah, man. Next time, top five Op-ed albums. Well, I guess Will won't be on that episode. We'll have Markisan that time.

02:29:20.819 --> 02:29:50.160
There you go. Will will be like, fuck no, I ain't doing that. Well, I like Opeth. Oh, I just don't like I just actually I even like newer Opeth. It's just not metal anymore. It saddens me. Michael. I love bloodbath. Michael Akrafart is the greatest death metal vocalist ever. That's for John. He is. He is one of the greatest death metal vocals ever. It just saddens me and pains me that he doesn't do it anymore. And no longer engages that part of his being.

02:29:50.800 --> 02:29:51.020
Yeah.

02:29:51.760 --> 02:30:05.780
You know, I put Crack the Sky on the other day and was and it sort of shed a mastodon tear for the grace, the greatness that's not to come anymore kind of thing. Like I really was like, God, this is good. I, you know, was just reminded about how grand it was.

02:30:06.400 --> 02:30:10.120
Yeah. I shed that tear when I listened to Leviathan and then it stops right there.

02:30:11.880 --> 02:30:12.240
Agreed.

02:30:14.739 --> 02:30:15.960
I'm with you on Crack the Sky.

02:30:16.840 --> 02:30:17.300
What's that?

02:30:18.060 --> 02:30:18.920
I'm with you on Crack the Sky.

02:30:19.060 --> 02:30:24.780
I still love Leviathan too, mind you. When we did our top

02:30:25.400 --> 02:30:47.940
whatever it was in the last 15 years, I actually chose that as my number one. Crack the Sky, maybe just more of a spiritual favorite. Didn't quite crack the top 15. Between him too, Blood Mountain. I like Blood Mountain. I think Blood Mountain's good. And it has the initials BM. I mean, that's always good. I don't think we've heard your number one yet, George. No, that would be Emperor Equilibrium 9.

02:30:48.779 --> 02:31:17.200
Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yep. That checks out. Okay. Sure. Sure. Isn't the nine before the equilibrium? It is. No, it's not. Is it really? I wrote it down wrong. Guess that's how much I know it. No, that's the way it exists in my head, George, but I'm dyslexic when it comes to emperor. I always wondered, you know, when you go to a restaurant and you see those tips jars, I always wonder if dyslexic people spit in those. Anyway. Sorry.

02:31:20.540 --> 02:31:47.040
Okay, any honorable mentions there, Chris? Failures for Gods, Immolation. Ognon, A Journey Through the Dark by Keep of Callison. Botch, We Are the Romans. Mark, Marduk, Panzer Division Marduk. Solifold, Neonism. Emperor, Nine Equilibrium.

02:31:48.739 --> 02:32:16.480
Discourge cranial impalement. Will, you should check that out if you think you're into death metal. Discourge? He just called you out, bitch. He laid the garment down. I look at it as a friendly, like, hey, you may want to check this out, not call me out. No, no, because the way he said it, he was like, if you think you're death metal. Well, like, I know he was calling me out, but to the wider audience who doesn't know, Chris, I wouldn't do that.

02:32:17.220 --> 02:32:45.340
Like, don't tell them. Hey, Chris, I'll fuck you later. All right, Matt, you got any honorables? Agaloc, Pale Folklore, Testament, The Gathering, Opeth, Still Life, Behemoth, Satanica, Dangerous Cape Plan, Calculating Infinity, Immolation, Failures for Gods, and Emperor, Nine, Equilibrium. I gotta say, I was surprised nobody else had the Agaloc. Right? But hey.

02:32:46.640 --> 02:33:16.620
It bounced in and then it bounced out. Right. John, you got any? All right. Agaloc, Pale Folklore, Agora, Self-Titled, Amorphous, can't pronounce the album name, Emperor XI Equilibrium, Morgable, George, if you say it, I'll come to your house and beat your ass. Their first or second album. Wait, you're going to come on his ass and beat his what? I didn't say that. Well, you're not listening. I said, if he says it, I'm going to

02:33:16.660 --> 02:33:46.580
Come over and beat his ass. And then Zero Hour, Metamorphosis. I didn't say it. No? Because you know better. Yes, sir. I'll put you in time out again. My honorable mentions are Behemoth, Opeth, and Gwar. We kill everything. Not to be overlooked. The Gwar. Gwar. That was your whole list? Do you have any, Jack? I do.

02:33:46.740 --> 02:34:16.100
Marduk. That was probably the one that had the hardest time to put on my list. It was really into that record that year. The Behemoth. Satir Khan I liked as well. Agalok. And finally, one that's marginal as far as metal is concerned, but Nine Inch Nails and the Fragile came out that year. Yeah, I saw that. That's some good stuff. I didn't want to push it far enough to call it metal, but it's a heavy record. But that is, you know, maybe only second to the Downward Spiral. That's one of their finest moments.

02:34:17.539 --> 02:34:18.260
The Fragile.

02:34:18.900 --> 02:34:22.760
I still like that record. In fact, it came out on vinyl that long ago and I picked her up.

02:34:22.760 --> 02:34:23.160
So did I.

02:34:24.040 --> 02:34:25.300
Oh, you did get it eventually?

02:34:25.540 --> 02:34:28.280
Well, yeah. After you ordered it, I ordered it.

02:34:29.100 --> 02:34:29.960
Then you were like, fuck it.

02:34:30.160 --> 02:34:30.320
Yeah.

02:34:32.200 --> 02:34:35.140
I only have two, and neither of them has been mentioned.

02:34:35.980 --> 02:34:37.600
Balsa Goth, The Power Cosmic.

02:34:39.180 --> 02:34:43.180
And one that I'm going to take some crap for, maybe.

02:34:43.680 --> 02:34:46.540
I don't know what Will's going to think, but I think he's going to hate it.

02:34:47.301 --> 02:35:15.640
Creator, Endorama. I think that's a great freaking Creator album. I think one of the problems with Creator in that late 90s, early 2000s era was the production was fucking terrible. And Endorama is okay. It's a more commercial Creator, but it's good. Yeah, it's okay. I mean, they got more to that industrial stuff because that was the rage.

02:35:15.740 --> 02:35:45.680
Yeah. I don't. It's hard for me to dislike a creator album. It's not like creator put out an album like Load or Reload. Well, nobody's put out an album like Load or Reload. That's the bar. If you put something out and it sounds like that, just...

02:35:46.159 --> 02:35:51.160
Yeah, just cut your guitar strings and go home. They should have called St. Anger Unload.

02:35:55.100 --> 02:36:10.020
So what would he put on the cover then, Jay? I heard that Lars said his favorite album cover was Load. And Reload, I think he said too. Yeah, I mean, what is that, dude? Maybe he's got a personal connection to it we're not aware of.

02:36:11.381 --> 02:36:40.120
I think I've told the story where St. Agner has this like strange really weird like soft spot in my heart because it came out I think in 2003 so there was when I was rolling around Iraq and there was a pirate radio station like some army private whatever like boycotted not boy uh Bogart whatever he just hijacked a radio frequency and just start putting out radio radio station

02:36:40.160 --> 02:36:44.100
And it was just like this playlist. And there was basically you could just listen to the entire St.

02:36:44.380 --> 02:36:59.860
Anger album along with all this other garbage. But, you know, you're rolling through the streets of Sadr City and you're you're in your whatever vehicle and you can put on your put on the radio like FM radio and you can listen to Metallica.

02:37:00.620 --> 02:37:01.080
And it was St.

02:37:01.280 --> 02:37:06.920
Anger, which we all knew it was complete garbage. It was sort of like, well, it's better than listening to the local stuff.

02:37:08.119 --> 02:37:37.380
Just so you know when you said rolling through solder city I would pictured you going through solder city and you said whatever vehicle I pictured a Volkswagen Rabbit I hope that's cool I was thinking like this pimped out like vehicle with like bouncing up and down you know there there were those that you know the last thing you want to do when you're rolling through solder city is being in a military Humvee you know fair enough yeah you went incognito so when I say yes least popular so for

02:37:38.681 --> 02:38:04.860
In an issue of Marvel's What If, what if that had been the Black Album playing? What would you have done? Would you have listened to that? I mean, at the time, yeah, I would have listened to that because I just admitted to kind of like having a soft spot for St. Anger. That is definitely technically worse. Yeah, so it's kind of technically worse.

02:38:05.660 --> 02:38:35.400
It's just that the raging anti-hard-on that you have for the Black Album. Because the Black Album was the first one that led to 30 years of garbage. 30 years of darkness. No, I said garbage. Do you want me to say it again? Garbage. In Canada, where Joel's from, it's garbage. Garbage. And in Germany, darkness is German for garbage, isn't it? So there you go.

02:38:37.681 --> 02:38:54.420
I full circle them. Yeah. Anyway. 30 years of darkness. Are we confusing with garage days? That's not garbage. That's good. That's the French. That's the French word. Your fancy garage. Garage. All right. What are we listening to?

02:39:34.220 --> 02:39:35.620
Música

02:39:35.640 --> 02:40:05.600
Digging into that. The Stone is a blackmail band from Serbia. I think I sent you that link, George. Yeah. A few weeks ago. They're also very good. River Black I found recently, which is basically, if you guys remember, they've been Burnt by the Sun. Yep. Early aughts. It's all of those guys except different baseball

02:40:05.640 --> 02:40:35.600
So they reformed in 2016 and put out a new record. It sounds very much like Burnt by the Sun, but not as cool. Siberian. Yeah, that live album. Yeah, they put on a new live EP, which is pretty cool. Jerusalem, which is the Blue Delfs Nord guys. Oh, is it? I saw that the other day, but I didn't listen to it. I didn't know what that was. Yeah, it's...

02:40:35.640 --> 02:41:03.960
In terms of vibe, it's supposed to sort of harken back to the 777 trilogy. Nice! Which it does, so it's got like an industrial god flesh kind of vibe. It's pretty cool. I don't want all over that. Yeah, it's a good listen. It's not as fully formed. Like the songs aren't really like fully fleshed out. It almost seems like sort of just like leftovers from those records or something, but it's still cool.

02:41:04.320 --> 02:41:33.080
Can you repeat that name, Chris? Jerusalem, or Jerusalem, but it's with a Y. And a couple of vinyl purchases I got recently is the Nocturnal Mortem Voice of Steel reissue, which is super cool. And I got Misery Index Descent, which is an old EP of theirs, which I've been hunting for a while. Holy grail. And that's it? Yeah, for sure. Cool. Matt?

02:41:35.060 --> 02:42:04.240
The New Panopticon, like we talked about. And then this band Ars Magna Umbre. Anybody? I recognize it. I don't know if I've listened to them. So they're from Poland, which is my people. But I saw it listed as a new release, but then I saw it came out in 2018. And I mean, does anybody else feel like in 2019, you feel differently about 2018 releases? Almost like the old girlfriend, new girlfriend thing?

02:42:04.340 --> 02:42:08.680
I have a new girlfriend and her name is 2019 and she doesn't want me talking to you.

02:42:09.420 --> 02:42:10.660
And that kind of tears me up a little bit.

02:42:10.810 --> 02:42:11.880
But anyways, it's really good.

02:42:12.760 --> 02:42:18.000
The new Thiraj as we've talked about, I've been listening to a shitload of horrendous.

02:42:19.400 --> 02:42:26.320
I think part of it kind of drove me from the show at the five-year anniversary show you guys were talking about.

02:42:26.390 --> 02:42:31.060
Because I saw them years ago, not years ago, but a few years ago I saw them on the Decibel Tour.

02:42:31.320 --> 02:42:31.840
Loved them.

02:42:32.200 --> 02:43:00.160
that have been loving the music, but there's something about Idol that just took me this year. And I just want to reiterate, if any of them are listening, that I do still want to be best friends with them. And I mean, I'm talking about like birthday parties, like sleepovers and shit, and we would call it best for Wendis. And I do have the t-shirts made up. I just wanted to think about it. Good stuff. I know all of them. So if you want me to put you in touch with them.

02:43:00.180 --> 02:43:30.140
I can see Alex and Matt just skipping down the street throwing flowers. Yeah. Smiling. Oh man, that would just be magical. He's like the happiest guy ever. I will say he did, like when I saw him play, he would obviously be the guy that was smiling the entire time. But he doesn't smile anymore. I shouldn't say, it's not from us giving him shit, but he's more intense now. But he is center. The greatest thing about Alex is he's center stage. He is the center. And Damien and

02:43:30.180 --> 02:43:59.860
and Matt are on the stage left, stage right. And they're playing their guitars and singing, doing their... We know what they're doing over there. It was nice of you to describe it, though. No, sorry. I'm trying to take them away to their dueling vocals, whatever. They both sing. But Alex is the center stage. What I love about horrendous is the stage presence for days. And it's almost like they hark him back to old,

02:44:00.200 --> 02:44:29.980
Like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, even Horrendous, not Horrendous, Chemist does this a little bit, where it's like they look like they're having fun with each other on stage. Kind of like we have fun with each other. I want to know. Horrendous is our masters of fun. Looking like they're having a great fucking time on stage. What I want to know is the guy, the singer guy that does,

02:44:30.180 --> 02:45:00.080
the no shirt with the vest over. Is that Matt? Matt, yeah. I want to know if Matt gets nipple shaved from doing that because that looks painful. Ooh. The jean jacket rubbing on the nipples like that. It's called Vaseline. I'm like, maybe that's how he does the harsh vocal thing. He's like, it's all the nipples. It's also called hard pecs versus soft man tits. These skinny people don't get that? No. I don't know. It's like aerodynamic.

02:45:00.180 --> 02:45:29.520
I can slide right through everything. Exactly, man. The thing is, when they come to my birthday party, we will discuss that. It's a hard-hitting questions. You know, we'll be playing a lot of skee-ball at Chuck E. Cheese, but we will get to that when we're done with that. All right. I actually played a lot of skee-ball today. Skee-ball's awesome. I love that. You know, it's funny. I don't... Does Dave & Buster's... I don't remember if it's Dave & Buster's or another place like Dave & Buster's that has beer pong.

02:45:31.159 --> 02:45:59.540
Essentially like a game that you can win tickets playing beer pong. Yes. David Busser has that. I was so proud because my wife and I fucking killed it. We won so many tickets because they're like, hey, can you guys play for us? You're damn right we can play this. I mean, can they print enough tickets for us playing beer pong? Probably not. Ski ball's a close second, though. Okay, wrapping up my list. Mothgather, their album is not out yet. It's going to be called Esoteric Oppression, but they have a preview track I really dig.

02:46:00.180 --> 02:46:28.740
a lot of the ocean. You said esoteric. Malacology. You're damn right. And so my last one. And George, if you could have the children singing queued up. So much stress. The band name is pronounced, in my opinion, Moinyuk. M-O-apostrophe-Y-N-O-Q. Moinyuk. Okay. Mycock?

02:46:29.960 --> 02:46:59.580
Monique? Personally, when I read it, I went to Star Wars route and I called him Minoc. Like, you know, put it on the power cable. Sure. But I like your pronunciation. It's actually, it sounds really cool. You have no idea how much time I put into this. And I just feel like a huge weight is lifted off my shoulder, even though I probably pronounced it wrong. So if they are listening and they said they listened to the last episode, I'm apologizing in advance. You look better. Dreaming in a dead language. I really dig it.

02:46:59.620 --> 02:47:29.600
Say it again. Oh, that's a nice name for a record. D-Reaming in a Dead Language. No, no, no, no. Say the band name again. Say it again. Say it again. Am I pronouncing this right? Dreaming in a Dead Language. Am I getting it right? Does that sound right to you guys? No, the D sound. He's got it queued up. D-Reaming. D-Reaming in a Dead Language. And the band name again. Boy, Boynyuk. That sounds like Native American. Well, I will say this, that if

02:47:29.640 --> 02:47:58.500
They're from North Carolina. And there's a city or a town or whatever. Uzbekistan. In North Carolina. And there's literally the Great Dismal Swamp in North Carolina. That's right next to Uzbekistan, right? It's northeast North Carolina. And there's a town there called like Minoc or something like that. It's along those lines. So they may be talking. They may have named their album from the name of that town.

02:47:59.420 --> 02:48:01.660
In the band

02:48:02.920 --> 02:48:03.960
Because there is a

02:48:04.220 --> 02:48:05.960
There's like a port city in Uzbekistan

02:48:06.200 --> 02:48:06.620
That was

02:48:07.860 --> 02:48:10.300
A port city and is not as cool as it used to be

02:48:10.840 --> 02:48:12.460
I wasn't just being a dick that time

02:48:12.480 --> 02:48:13.400
I mean normally I am

02:48:14.340 --> 02:48:14.460
But

02:48:15.520 --> 02:48:16.900
These are all good questions

02:48:17.540 --> 02:48:18.200
All good questions

02:48:18.480 --> 02:48:19.680
No all relevant questions

02:48:20.020 --> 02:48:22.220
I'm pretty sure Uzbekistan is landlocked

02:48:22.300 --> 02:48:23.960
So I don't know what port they have

02:48:24.800 --> 02:48:26.240
Unless it's on the Caspian Sea

02:48:26.440 --> 02:48:28.200
Or the Azul Sea or something weird

02:48:28.240 --> 02:48:29.380
Story of my life

02:48:29.400 --> 02:48:30.360
Screwed by Wikipedia.

02:48:33.940 --> 02:48:35.900
Actually, the facts don't back you up on that.

02:48:36.960 --> 02:48:38.840
You sound like Cliffy on Cheers.

02:48:39.180 --> 02:48:42.760
Hey, Cliff, there's a guy where he says you don't know a thing about photosynthesis.

02:48:43.560 --> 02:48:44.560
Oh, is that right?

02:48:45.660 --> 02:48:47.620
It's a literal fact there, Cliff.

02:48:48.540 --> 02:48:49.620
Sammy, not so fast.

02:48:50.300 --> 02:48:51.260
Wikipedia said so.

02:48:51.880 --> 02:48:52.780
What are you listening to, John?

02:48:54.920 --> 02:48:56.060
Oh, okay.

02:48:56.300 --> 02:48:58.680
I thought we were going to discuss the merits of Wikipedia some more.

02:48:59.960 --> 02:49:28.220
All right. Good enough. Because I wanted to hear what George was going to say about 1999 in his Wikipedia search. Yeah, I was thinking that. I was like, God damn Dodd-Heim's guard. Rather goddamn Wikipedia for not showing me that. Yeah, you need at least two sources for those. Definitely. Yeah. All right. I'll go through mine fast. First one is a band called Morgable. You've heard me mention them before. They just released a new album, The Story of Scott Roddy. They're an instrumental, prog metal, jazz fusion band.

02:49:28.560 --> 02:49:57.380
that I've been listening to for years. So. Ashi Aram, I think is how you say it, Living Tomb, death metal band from Portland. They're getting a lot of play from a lot of people the last couple of days. My album of the month, Will's album of the month, Soulmask, The Weakness of Virtue, Death Doom, I believe they're from Florida. A band I just discovered literally a couple days ago, Stormhaven.

02:49:58.580 --> 02:50:27.840
Liquid Imagery. They are a prog death metal band from France. I really like that. Just want to say that. Yes. I bought that after finding it on John's list. Yeah. Yeah, it's cool. I like it. That's all I'm going to say about it. And then Swallow the Sun When a Shadow is Forced Into the Light. That's it. Hi, Will. Hi. I've been listening to the new Overkill quite a bit. We got the promo.

02:50:27.940 --> 02:50:28.680
So good.

02:50:29.660 --> 02:50:29.920
Yeah.

02:50:30.090 --> 02:50:30.560
I like it.

02:50:31.020 --> 02:50:32.060
I like it a lot.

02:50:32.880 --> 02:50:34.440
Vast change for them, but.

02:50:37.240 --> 02:50:38.160
That's gotta be sarcastic.

02:50:38.230 --> 02:50:38.640
Oh, totally.

02:50:39.060 --> 02:50:41.120
It's exactly what you expect from Overkill.

02:50:42.140 --> 02:50:42.700
I love.

02:50:42.920 --> 02:50:46.680
I love the fact that that's kind of like in a weird sort of way what I looked about.

02:50:46.810 --> 02:50:49.640
If you look at the big four, Anthrax changed a lot.

02:50:49.720 --> 02:50:50.540
Megadeth changed a lot.

02:50:50.640 --> 02:50:52.180
Metallica just started to suck.

02:50:52.620 --> 02:50:53.800
Slayer, I mean.

02:50:54.220 --> 02:50:54.960
For the most part.

02:50:54.960 --> 02:51:24.720
For the most part, they stayed the same. Hatebreed? No. Close. Hatebeak? Yeah. Hatebeak fucking rules. Yeah. Hatebeak. Door glue? Yes. I saw that on your Twitter. That was fucking horrible. I mean, it was funny, but it was horrible. It's Blake. Sorry. I'm like,

02:51:24.980 --> 02:51:54.920
Blake from Pig Destroyer does Hate Peek. And then he teamed up with Richard Christie from the Howard Stern Show and got his guinea pigs involved anyway. So I just bought that on fucking vinyl. Oh my God. Guinea pig vocals? Guinea pig and parrot vocals. The space slug four-way split, which is super annoying because you can buy the space slugs song. You can buy the dope thrones.

02:51:55.180 --> 02:52:24.600
The Soul Mass, which obviously John talked about. I pre-ordered the new Ordos. And then I'm about to buy, have not bought it yet. You guys put it on the Metalhead's new music was the Putucha Morte. Yeah. I'm kind of digging that.

02:52:24.980 --> 02:52:54.780
I may get that on vinyl. I'm not sure yet. Yeah. And the Minoc. I've been, because Minoc's about to play Atlas on 420, I believe. You know, I don't see the overkill in there. It's in the box. It's in the new box. Yeah, are you in the new box? No. I sent it out. No, you better. Okay. Well, I'm so bad about email. I'll find it. That's it. It's a tighter box.

02:52:54.960 --> 02:52:55.600
Yeah.

02:52:57.380 --> 02:53:00.760
I have been listening to soul mass swallow the sun.

02:53:01.700 --> 02:53:03.500
I've been listening to a band.

02:53:03.560 --> 02:53:07.480
I've found a band camp called mass ma who perhaps rain of the odious.

02:53:07.600 --> 02:53:07.660
Yeah.

02:53:07.660 --> 02:53:08.040
I like that.

02:53:09.360 --> 02:53:10.820
Heavier messier behemoth.

02:53:12.160 --> 02:53:14.840
At least to be behemoth style vocal orders,

02:53:15.120 --> 02:53:16.200
even though we only get to Weston.

02:53:16.200 --> 02:53:19.240
The one track is I've certainly listened to enough times to say listen to it.

02:53:20.920 --> 02:53:22.240
Another band called Mount Saturn,

02:53:22.360 --> 02:53:28.760
which is like a doom psychedelic female fronted thing um pretty good stuff

02:53:29.600 --> 02:53:36.220
troll fest norwegian fairy tales and then i also mentioned to the boys recently that i kind of got stuck

02:53:36.240 --> 02:53:42.180
in a ufo loop so i've been listening to all the ufo records from phenomenon through strangers of the night

02:53:42.640 --> 02:53:51.140
well even more easily said as anything that michael shanker's on yep great records and i'm gonna see if i can find a new box now

02:53:52.801 --> 02:53:54.240
All right, my,

02:53:54.880 --> 02:53:58.800
what I have been listening to in this new shorter 2019 year.

02:54:01.020 --> 02:54:05.400
First up the beast of nod vampire disciple of chaos.

02:54:06.200 --> 02:54:10.700
It's the first album from a Boston sci-fi prog tech death band.

02:54:11.640 --> 02:54:14.180
And I have to bring this up too.

02:54:15.440 --> 02:54:20.460
So there is a song on this album titled it's an acronym.

02:54:23.500 --> 02:54:50.280
TCTWADMLC, which stands for the cybernetic tiger with a dorsal mounted laser cannon. Nice. Sci-fi death metal. Now, I want to read you some of the lyrics because it sounds like maybe they got Paul and Gene from Kiss to write these, but they're like, write it with a sci-fi laser tiger twist. I have to say, George, did you find a way like, well, if I can only list six songs instead of to make it longer, I'm going to read you lyrics.

02:54:50.740 --> 02:55:20.580
from some of these songs. I still want 40 minutes of airtime. Exactly. Exactly. So. Fuck. And I'm going to read you a big chunk too because it's all pretty funny. She won't just kill you. She'll blow your legs off and she'll claw your eyes and she'll look good while doing it. She'll rip out your guts and tear open your chest and feast on your heart and she'll look good while doing it. You'll beg for your life as you scream in pure pain. She'll rip out your throat and she'll look good while doing it. She'll take off your head and drink from the blood.

02:55:20.740 --> 02:55:47.880
and she'll chew on your skull and she'll look good while doing it. And he's like doing this all in death metal vocals. So it's kind of funny. Okay. Okay. Okay. What was the name of the band again? The Beast of Nod. Is that two A's? I'm sorry? How do you spell Nod? N-O-D. Two A's? N-O-D. It's on Bandcamp.

02:55:50.720 --> 02:56:19.620
The Rimoire De Occult, Wisdom of the Dead. They're a German Death Doom band. It's their first album. It's a little more, when it comes to the death, it's less Cannibal Corpse, more Bolt Thrower. It's slower and rolling over your kind of death metal, but it's pretty cool. Next up is Half of Rotten Ruin. This one's not out yet, but we got the promo. I heard Matt from Slugge talking about how great this was.

02:56:19.700 --> 02:56:49.040
So when the promo came in, I gave it a listen. They're like a New Jersey death metal band. I like it. Next, we have Marcasson's album of the month for January, Hellevorn. Alma Mata. To me, that sounds like a drunk guy trying to say Alma Mata. Thank you, Jay. It's the fourth album of Spanish Tomb. Thank you for that pronunciation. You have a mute button, right? I do. I'm sorry about that.

02:56:51.119 --> 02:57:19.680
Wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm going to die right on there. I was the cough. I don't know who else. I'm not dead yet. I think I'll go for a walk. Nobody ever does any body sounds we're doing podcasts. Yeah, that's a good one. Oops. Oops. Next, I have a rare power metal album. The band is called Silver Talon, and it's their EP, the first EP called Becoming a Demon. They're from

02:57:19.700 --> 02:57:21.720
Portland and they do

02:57:22.390 --> 02:57:23.720
this is like it's power

02:57:23.790 --> 02:57:25.380
metal but it's like a heavier less

02:57:25.740 --> 02:57:27.640
cheesy power metal and they do

02:57:27.640 --> 02:57:29.440
a cover of Sanctuary's Battle Angels

02:57:31.621 --> 02:57:33.260
and there's a guest

02:57:33.650 --> 02:57:35.660
solo by some guy I've never

02:57:35.760 --> 02:57:37.620
heard of him before his name is Jeff

02:57:38.620 --> 02:57:39.220
Loomis

02:57:39.660 --> 02:57:40.680
is that how you say it Loomis

02:57:42.260 --> 02:57:43.260
so yeah

02:57:46.000 --> 02:57:47.400
and it's pretty cool EP

02:57:49.080 --> 02:57:49.680
so

02:57:50.959 --> 02:58:19.200
And my last album is a band called Well of Sacrifice Primal Conquest. They're a Denver Prague death band. And they're notable because the female singer in the band is the daughter of Bill Ward. So, is she hot? Yes. Does she play drums? It just has her listed as vocals. Oh, vocals. She's not the main vocalist, at least I don't think. I mean, there's two people. There's a dude listed as vocals and there's her.

02:58:19.200 --> 02:58:48.300
I didn't listen to the whole thing, so I haven't gotten through it all yet, but supposedly she's in there somewhere. Was that six bands for you? Yeah, that was. But I have a one more thing, and that is I just listened today to the new Ashen Horde song, Profound Darkness, from their forthcoming album, Fallen Cathedrals, which will be out March 22nd. You should go pre-order that now, and at the very least, go and listen to Profound Darkness.

02:58:49.200 --> 02:59:17.480
It's good shit. Did he send that to you or is it on his Bandcamp? It's on Bandcamp. And I think you two as well. Trevor didn't send it to you. I didn't ask. I don't do that. Unless it's Solver Anne and we're waiting for the year-end list. Otherwise, I don't ask. You'll put seven on your list. That's what you'll do. Anyway, moving on.

02:59:21.880 --> 02:59:23.260
I could just see it now.

02:59:23.560 --> 02:59:28.080
10 episodes from now, we're all putting like 15, 20, because each episode, George goes to eight.

02:59:29.040 --> 02:59:31.340
That was more of a public service announcement.

02:59:32.400 --> 02:59:33.200
It wasn't an album.

02:59:33.260 --> 02:59:34.180
It was a song.

02:59:35.720 --> 02:59:37.520
This one goes to one more.

02:59:37.580 --> 02:59:39.160
Well, respect the one more.

02:59:40.180 --> 02:59:41.960
I'm bringing lyrics on my next list.

02:59:43.540 --> 02:59:45.340
I'm pretty sure none of you did six.

02:59:46.220 --> 02:59:46.340
Okay.

02:59:46.480 --> 02:59:47.680
Not all of you did six.

02:59:48.280 --> 03:00:17.760
I did five. Damn, it sure felt like more. Fucking lyrics. Excuse me for thinking it might be interesting. It did sound like a Kiss song. Didn't it, though? It's like, and she looks, it's like Strutter, you know, like a death metal Strutter, and she looks good while doing it. Anyway. Good thing there weren't nothing to lose lyrics. Well, Chris, was this worth your Friday night?

03:00:18.760 --> 03:00:48.240
Fuck yeah. All right. Wow. That was so much more all in than I expected. Very positive. I'm old and married. What else am I going to do with myself? Good point. Well, soon you're going to be hitting the road. We'll be seeing you in a couple of weeks. Or at least I will. I don't know about the rest of these. And by the rest of these guys, I mean John and Will. So, Chris, why don't you run down some of the other dates that you guys are going to be playing around then? Oh, man. I don't have it in front of me.

03:00:50.960 --> 03:01:16.380
Why are you coming at me, bro? Why are you coming out to see me, bro? What's the name of the pizza joint you're playing in Baltimore? Joe Squared. Yeah, Joe Squared. Which is not the Joe Squared that's next to Randhead. I guess they moved or something like that. It's a little further away. I thought there were two of them. That's the only one that's left. Pizza's not bad. Possibly.

03:01:18.260 --> 03:01:19.740
It's almost like a

03:01:21.220 --> 03:01:23.780
I guess maybe it's like a New Haven style

03:01:23.970 --> 03:01:25.640
It's like super thin crust

03:01:25.980 --> 03:01:27.600
Comes out like on a cookie sheet

03:01:29.061 --> 03:01:30.040
It's tasty

03:01:30.721 --> 03:01:32.740
So the 23rd is Baltimore

03:01:33.200 --> 03:01:34.100
It's Joe Squared

03:01:34.580 --> 03:01:35.140
25th

03:01:36.101 --> 03:01:37.560
The 24th is Open

03:01:38.960 --> 03:01:39.960
Get at us

03:01:41.000 --> 03:01:42.520
The 25th is Rally

03:01:42.880 --> 03:01:44.900
North Carolina at the Maywood

03:01:45.641 --> 03:01:47.620
26th is Atlanta at the Earl

03:01:48.359 --> 03:02:17.240
27th is Memphis at Growlers. 28th is Lexington, Kentucky at the Green Lantern. Then Cleveland on the first. And Philly on the second. And then St. Vitus and Brooklyn on the third. St. Vitus, nice. You're playing St. Vitus, good for you. All right, let's wrap this shit up, man. All right, well, go out and see in Faribrew on some of those dates if you are in the area. And if you're not, fucking make a road trip or something, you know, go see it. They're good. Get the album. Yeah.

03:02:17.640 --> 03:02:47.000
Go out to bandcamp and pick up the album and the other album. At its finest. And anything else they have on there. All right. Well, Chris, thanks for coming on. Thanks for having me. And Galen as well for his part in the interview there. Thanks for having me. I hope he's having fun in Europe. I've been seeing his pictures on Instagram. They look pretty cool. He's up and having a good time. Chris, are we going to see you in Philly? Fuck yeah.

03:02:47.640 --> 03:03:10.580
All right, it's coming to Dustable. I got my ticket. I got the hotel booked. I'm ready to go. All right. This is going to be the largest shit show ever. It's always epic. I think this year is going to be even more epic. Yeah, I do too. More epic than epic. All right. We're out of here. See you next time. Peace. Bye.

03:04:28.619 --> 03:04:29.580
*knock*

03:04:31.420 --> 03:04:34.720
Hello, John. I thought I might find you here.

03:04:36.039 --> 03:04:38.540
Looks like it's going to be just you and me as usual.

03:04:39.840 --> 03:04:43.100
Now that you've arrived, please stay a while.

03:04:44.080 --> 03:04:46.500
And I promise, I won't keep you long.

03:04:46.640 --> 03:04:48.600
I'll keep you forever.
